The risks of investing with councils were made plain and easily understood so less chance of any ambiguity. Abundance provides a platform for those seeking to invest in sustainable projects for existing and potential investors with no encouragement or pressure to do so leaving it up to each to choose as they wish. I was pleased to discover there was a council local to us raising funds in a subject which interests me, knowing there are likely to be others available later offering greater returns.

I do a lot of crowdinvesting and Abundance has a really good concept. Sadly, my portfolio has performed terribly, compared to other platforms I invested in. A substantial part of my investments is in default and I lost about half of what I put in. That also has to do with insufficient diversification and bad luck on my part, but I don't think Abundance is doing as much as its peers in trying to actively recover assets. I also lost a substantial part of my investment due to Pound Sterling's depreciation. That's not Abundance's fault, obviously, but is an additional risk factor for foreign investors.
