DO NOT BUY FROM BACK MARKET – WORST PURCHASE EXPERIENCE EVER I recently bought an iPhone 12 from Back Market, and it was an absolute disaster from the moment it arrived. Despite paying extra for a “Premium” grade phone, what I received was anything but. Right out of the box, the phone was barely functional – it took hours to charge and the battery drained in minutes. The system didn’t even recognise the battery or display, which is a major red flag. Just one week later, the screen went completely black. When I contacted Back Market for a refund or replacement, they refused—all because the back glass was “shattered”… from falling once on grass. Yes, grass. So, I was forced to pay almost $200 out of pocket to replace the screen, only to be told by the technician that the original screen was the cheapest, lowest-quality knockoff they’d ever seen. Again, this was supposed to be a premium device. Not long after, I received a critical error message from settings saying the battery was faulty. The next day, the phone wouldn’t charge past 1%, and when it randomly did, it would shut off every 5 minutes. Another technician told me they regularly see Back Market phones with these same problems, and that even replacing the battery wouldn’t guarantee the phone would work again. I was advised it would be more worth it to buy a whole new phone. I’m a student working three jobs just to afford this phone, and now I’m left with a useless piece of junk, no refund, and no support. Back Market sold me a broken, low-quality, overpriced phone and then completely abandoned responsibility when it failed. I feel ripped off, and I don’t want anyone else going through what I did. Save your money. Avoid Back Market at all costs.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Back Market. The first iPhone 14 Pro I ordered arrived with an “unknown” battery and display. After just one week, the screen went completely black and stopped working. I had to return it and, after a lot of back and forth, finally received my refund - but this left me without a phone for almost a month. I then ordered another phone. This time, the wrong model was delivered (no eSIM slot, which was already frustrating, though I tried to overlook it). Unfortunately, the screen was defective again, showing rainbow effects whenever I used the inner camera. Now I’ll have to send this second phone back as well. Back Market won’t refund me for the two screen protectors I had to buy and waste during this process, and it adds to the frustration of the whole experience. This has been exhausting and disappointing. I’ve bought refurbished phones before and never had these issues, but after this I will never order from Back Market again. Next time, I’ll buy directly from Apple.
