If I could leave negative stars I would. I have a vehicle loan with BOA. I wondered why my principle seemed to not be dropping. The website shows you the principle but WILL NOT let you make additional payments toward principle only. I called the consumer vehicle loans department…spoke to a very nice lady who advised me, that’s not available online. I have to call in to their loan 800 number to make additional payments for principle only. The reason??? BOA is a shitty greedy bank that DOESN'T WANT you to be able to pay toward the principle…because if I pay every two weeks…THEY STILL COLLECT INTEREST ON BOTH PAYMENTS . So..two payments per month? Equals 108.00 x 2 in interest payments. This route no matter how quickly you pay off your loan…they still gonna get their interest. Very shady, greedy business practices. So, y’all…call 800-215-6195. Make your extra payments straight to the principle.

I want to pay for my prescription drugs using Zelle as that is the only option to pay them. I logged into my BAC account and went through the process and when I entered my pin (for over 20 years) it would not accept it. I talked with a Customer Support person and she could not help me. She said that I would have go to a BAC financial center to change my PIN which I will not do. I will withdraw all my money first! This is unacceptable!

Would give no stars if possible... After 15 years of a stellar payment record, I will be canceling my account. Locked means LOCKED. BOA leads its consumers to believe it's for "one-time transactions," meaning after locking my account at my request, BOA continued to allow charges to go through. No notification provided. No texts, emails, phone calls, despite having this information on file. Then they ding me with a $25 late payment fee for charges unauthorized that rolled through with no awareness on my part. LOCKED MEANS LOCKED. BOA GENERATES $25 LATE FEES FROM CONSUMERS WHO HAD THE GOOD FAITH BELIEF THAT THEIR CARDS WERE LOCKED AND NO FURTHER CHARGES WOULD BE INCURRED WITHOUT THE CONSUMER'S KNOWLEDGE. An energetic discussion with the customer service representative resulted in them directing me to Disputes for an investigation. NOT. LOCKED means LOCKED. Anything else is consumer fee-gouging, at $25 per transaction.

I would give this horrible company no stars if I could. They rarely answer their phone and when they do you have waited at least 45 min. Wells Fargo has better phone service. I am very sad I moved to Bank of America. They are horrible and unprofessional. Do not do business with Bank of America.

This is the worst bank that I have ever banked with. The customer service is trash an all they do is lie to you. There ATM machine ate 440.00 of my money. I am a transportation owner so you know fuel is expensive. They are finding every excuse not to return the money that belongs to me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you chose a bank run from this one. They have no class and will not help you excel in your business; you will make no progress with this bank. I am withdrawing all my money and going to chase bank where they will treat you better an respect your money. This place is garbage an has no respect for there customers

I have a Spirit credit card with BOA. If I wasn't trapped by the account to retain the points, I would have cancelled long ago. Worst service ever, plus they use business practices intended to trip up customers. As others have noted, there is no customer service - no way to send email online and the phone system is meant to make you hang up. Additionally, when you change a payment account, they delete your autopay set-up, without notice. They also do not notify of late payments until +60 days, ensuring that it affects your credit. I use the card sporadically for small purchases and would not notice if a payment was missed, because I usually don't owe anything. By dropping my autopay and not notifiying me of a missed payment immediately, my perfect credit was dinged with a +60 day late pay. I only discovered it through a credit monitoring service - I was never notified by BOA. Nor would they correct it, even though it resulted from them changing my autopay set-up. It caused a huge impact to my credit. Additionally, last month I had a fraudulent charge, which they caught, but somehow, I had to call to get the "finance charge" on it reversed.

I mean the stress that comes with using their services is way more than the interest. I honestly kinda learnt that it is better to let your money work for you than leave it in a bank. ''𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓾𝓷𝓮 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓶𝓹𝓲𝓸𝓷' is actually one that has pretty great returns.

Some money was transferred accidentally to Bank of America. They admitted that they need to return it and promised to, but a month later they still haven’t. Disgusting behaviour.

This company is not too bad. Just wish their investigation team had done better with an issue I had. They claimed that I didn't have enough evidence when they had access to ALL the evidence that I didn't to help my case. I had to type up an email about my dissatisfaction and in the end, they didn't make me pay. So yay

Bank of America reversed claims that had already been approved months earlier, pulling back funds from my account without notice or consent. This conduct raises serious compliance and consumer-protection issues: Electronic Funds Transfer Act / Regulation E – Requires prompt notice of any reversal or error correction and protects consumers from unauthorized debits. Reversing a resolved claim without disclosure or consent violates both the notice and authorization provisions. Truth in Savings Act / Regulation DD – Requires banks to clearly disclose interest-rate practices and fees. Persistently paying sub-market rates while layering undisclosed fees and post-hoc reversals undermines these disclosure obligations. State Unfair & Deceptive Acts and Practices (UDAP) laws – Most states prohibit unfair or deceptive practices in consumer banking. Secretly reclaiming previously approved funds and adding hidden fees fits squarely within these prohibitions. CFPB and OCC Guidelines – Federal regulators consider unauthorized account debits, failure to provide timely notice, and misleading fee practices to be unsafe and unsound banking conduct subject to enforcement action. Pattern of harm: Months after approving legitimate claims, the bank clawed back funds with no advance communication. Savings balances already yield among the lowest interest in the market; customers are penalized twice—first by lost interest, then by surprise reversals and cascading fees. Requested resolution: 1. Immediate reinstatement of all reversed claim amounts plus any related fees or lost interest. 2. Written explanation of the authority used for each reversal. 3. Confirmation of corrective measures to prevent future unauthorized debits. Bank of America profits from customer deposits and still layers on hidden costs. This is not simply poor service; it is a pattern of conduct that violates federal consumer-protection law and must be investigated.

A once great bank has become the worst in America. Awful service, ridiculous phone robot, annoying information, longer than long time waits for helpless assistance. Do not online bank with Bank of America. Actually, don't deal at all with Bank of America, unless you like troubled times. No problems in the past, too many problems in the present. Bye, bye Bank of America.

I recently visited this Bank of America branch (1230 Parkway Ave STE 106, West Trenton, NJ 08628)with my father to withdraw cash. While I could have used the ATM, I specifically wanted $100 bills, so I figured — why not go inside and speak to a human? Big mistake. The branch was spotless, quiet, and oddly peaceful… probably because no actual work was happening. We were greeted with a smile by one gentleman, and then — like characters in a low-budget spy movie — I noticed a handful of employees peeking at us from behind their translucent glass partitions. I counted at least four staff members, including the manager, all having casual conversations and taking leisurely strolls around the office like they were in a mall, not a bank. Meanwhile, there was just one cashier, assisting an elderly customer. Fair enough — everyone deserves attention. But what followed was a brilliant display of how not to help the next customers in line. My father and I waited patiently — for a solid 10 minutes — expecting that maybe, just maybe, someone would acknowledge our presence or open another counter. Nope. They just kept walking around, talking, occasionally glancing at us as if we were part of the furniture. Even the manager — with a permanent smirk that could rival a sitcom character — chose not to intervene. I guess watching customers wait is the new BOA training module? Eventually, I gave up, walked over to the ATM, took out my money (in whatever bills it gave), and turned around with a cheerful, “Thank you for your quick and prompt service!” — because sarcasm was the only service available that day. This experience was frustrating, awkward, and frankly disrespectful. It felt like we were invisible, or worse — entertainment. I went in for help, and came out with a reminder of why so many people are ditching traditional banks.

I was treated like a criminal by a William in the fraud department. My credit card was declined for suspicious activity fine. I called to let them know its me. After a long wait on the phone William answered. He kept saying this call is being recorded after everytime i talked. Then asked me what Im trying to buy??? Excuse me Sir?? He then said i would have to go to a bank and show 2 forms of ID. There's not a bank of america for over 200 miles from me. I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me NO. I'm a 100% disabled veteran who was treated like crap. He was very smug. I asked to cancel my card because I used my capital one instead. I dont like the customer service. He just put me on hold. I did cut up the card and will not use it again

i have this card because there is no international transaction fee. i have never been happy with their 'service'. the latest fiasco is my daughter was trying to use her card with her name on it to buy a train ticket. the card has worked before. today it was requesting a code. luckily i was by my phone and able to provide her the number so the transaction would go through. i called b of a. they said there was nothing they could (or wanted) to do. add her number? noooo has to be primary card holder's number. eliminate the need for a code? noooo we can not do that. i have never been pleased with b of a. i am going to get a different and suggest you do the same.

So you want to set money aside in a savings account towards buying, say, a car. DO NOT imagine BofA is interested. They will intimidate you, threaten you with 60+ pages of legal jargon and - especially if you're elderly - use technomight to deter you. Best you look elsewhere for more professional, service-orientated, welcoming banks.

Damn BofA! After twenty-five years at this crappy bank (I didn't switch before because I thought it would be too much work to open an account at another bank), I discovered that when I opened a new business account, I couldn't access my money. I went to pay an employee, and the transfer limit was $2,000, and I couldn't pay. I went to the branch and asked to release the digital card, but I couldn't either because it wasn't released. At the branch, the employee just said there was no way to help me with that. Everyone, get ready, because you won't have any rights to what truly belongs to you. The devil has arrived, and one of his names is Bank of America.

So during my trip to Turkey, I tried to make a purchase with my credit card and they straight up blocked my account. Then they told me I had to show up at the bank in person to get it unblocked. From Istanbul to New York, are you kidding me? What a bunch of clowns. They never, ever see things from the customer’s point of view.
