I don't know. It is really hiped currently, but introducing your own AI/Crypto/whatever service does not make it more trustful. As Snap on Ubuntu it is unusable, so you switch to classic install with full rights. When you wanna upload a file whole thing crashes. Could be a bug, could be on purpose, we don't know. Also lot of "shareware" (is this the correct tense nowadays) you have to disable, if you just want a clean secure browser. Go to Firefox, combine it with qwant or duckduckgo and have uBlock running (it runs there full ;).
Great search engine- better than duckduckgo or google and lets you customise your results and filter out sites you don't like.
Misinformation and they seem to steal newscorp data for profit and clearly not public use.
As far as Chromium browsers go, this is one of the few flavors that I would touch, especially since Google has updated the main fork of Chromium to be detrimental to ad blockers. YouTube works great with this along with using the chromecasting feature. Crypto features are disabled by default and the icon can be hidden to remove it from view.
As biased as google. I typed in far left violence uk to see what would come up as we've seen a lot of this lately but not on main stream media. It went straight to far right articles. Nothing about the topic I typed. If you want an alternative to google, this is not it. It just another arm of big brother and BB don't want you to know the truth. Shame.
I believe a brave privacy-oriented business model is extremely favorable and that the users don’t quite realize how much they need it and what Google is doing to them. I still think some crashes, and bug fixes have to be more efficient in resolving to boost our experience + love the user Interface. Hope they figure out how to monetize better so they might scale up to be competitive with existing giants like Google.
I haven't had any issues with Brave! There were some hiccups that I worked around (features that are turned off for safety/privacy but I turned back on). In Brave://flags you have to adjust Web Bluetooth API if you want to use your browser to connect and program devices within the site - handy for my applications. Or the other flag you must change to allow sites to scan your USB devices to connect to - again, a good security feature but I needed to use this. Now I am experiencing randomness with the payouts of Brave Rewards (their ad service that pays 50% or something to the viewer of said ads) after seeing this ongoing for 6+ months. The period ends every month, and then it says on your Rewards plugin that your funds will be in your account by the 7th (tomorrow). The funds still haven't hit my account and this goes back to what I was talking about. Some months I receive the payout the day after the period ends, others it has been past the 7th I've had to wait - then one other time recently they accidentally paid us double for the period. I contacted them and the guy informed me this only happened with a small cohort of users and to keep the funds. All well and all, but as I expressed to him, I'd rather pay it back if needed so we all can keep using this service as it improves. I've never once had the browser crash, it gets updates frequently, and I really LOVE the ethos behind the brand!
I wanted to give Brave a try. It just doesn't work. I searched the website for a solution. Many users are experiencing the same problem, and there's no immediate solution. We'll continue our search for an alternative.

been using this browser ever since youtube started lagging on firefox i loved it the ad blocker and privacy features are great but i didnt like the crypto stuff though the ai feature is usefull and makes my day easy
alright browser, but they changed my default browser settings and pinned brave to my taskbar without me asking it to, which is a pain and shows they arent an honest company
Someone overly educated apparently thought it was a good idea to make automatic synchronization not the default setting. While I don’t quite understand what problem this is supposed to solve, it did manage to permanently erase all my bookmarks after a successful reinstall. Something I had to do because ChatGPT wouldn’t accept any uploads when using Brave. With this little review, I’m now putting an end to our short-lived and once joyful relationship.
False advertising used when they say "We allow Youtube to work closed!". Like, no. Very technically perhaps. Youtube still (intentionally) bugs out and pauses music and doesn't skip to the next song, meaning you can't even go for a 20 minute walk outside without having to rip out the phone to fix a problem. The big red "Shield" lion logo is intrusive and makes you look at it constantly, thinking it's a notification. Impossible to disable.
The fact that they don't have any real customer service that you can contact is so bad

just deleted this bad software tried to change location from c to g but it couldnt tried everything but doesnt work, times to come back to chrome.
Settings do not work. they change back to what ever they were. they force an AI onto you . even when disabled it comes in randomly pushing coorporate opinions onto users. it seem like an effort to try and remove freedom of will from users in a brain washing attempt . everyone knows an AI is NOT itteligent. it a program. it s set up to render people more stupid everyday. it contradict itself al tthe time.
this browser is pretty private blocks all ads and quite fast
