Unfortunately, my account was set to the wrong time zone, so my class appeared in the Asia/Tehran time zone rather than UK time, which led to me missing my first lesson. I contacted customer support and they responded promptly, clearly explained the issue, and guided me through how to update my profile to the correct UK time zone. What I especially appreciated was their kindness and understanding. They made a one-time exception and returned one class credit to my account, which allowed me to rebook my lesson. "I began learning English through my natural sciences studies at university. Most of my exposure came from academic texts rather than structured grammar lessons. Because of this, I had limited access to formal learning materials and few opportunities to interact with native speakers. Over time, I became more involved with international communities, but I often felt uneasy during conversations, worrying about making mistakes, such as choosing the wrong words or struggling with grammar. This discomfort gradually changed after I joined the British Council online course. The learning environment helped me become more confident and less afraid of making mistakes. When I later enrolled in the IELTS Coach Course, my teacher took the time to understand my goals and schedule and recommended switching to the Flexible Course. "Waste of money, teachers mostly unprepared"

"I am a participant in the program STEP. After the first week of English classes, I realized that I needed a group with a different level. I sent the request to Customer Support British Council English online courses to be transferred to another group. I was satisfied the result because my issue was resolved the next day."

"I’m very disappointed with this course. The quality did not match what I expected, and the cancellation process is extremely difficult after you enroll. Customer support was unhelpful, and I had issues getting a refund. Also, an important point: I enrolled because I wanted to learn with native speakers (e.g., American English teachers), but many of the teachers available were not native speakers. For language learning, that matters to me, and it wasn’t clearly communicated. Based on my experience, I do not recommend signing up."

"The self study course is a total wast of money. It's mentioned as a self study, which should mean you won't need instructors, however after subscription you find the course without any learning material, and they force you to get live sessions with instructors to learn about new grammar or vocabulary. So all you find is small number of practices without any guidance or preparation section. I mean if at the end I would need live sessions with instructors, so why would you even call it a self study course then!"
