The files were made available quickly, but there was a time limit for download which made life awkward for us to find a way to securely and quickly get the files back. "I sent my laptop off to Fields Data Recovery over a month ago and was promised a 2 week turnaround at max. The engineer whom was looking into it, went on holiday and I wasn't told because of this there would be delays. Every time I rang to enquire they fobbed me off promising me news and still waiting. Another engineer, took over for a while and was semi helpful. But last week told me there was nothing they could do. So where is my laptop? I paid £920 for a 2 week job and have had no updates, emails ignored and held on hold for long periods of time. When I asked to make a formal complaint, they told me they couldn't do that. This has been a horrible experience. I have put my life on hold for a month. I wanted to make a video package for my Mum's 70th this weekend, which I am now unable to do and also unable to apply for jobs as all my CVs are on the laptop. I don't suppose this will get anywhere, but its very frustrating. If there's no laptop, I would very much like a refund so I can buy another one seen as it's unlikely I will ever see this one again. I have given up all hope. I just hope other customers have a better experience than me."

"I looked the company up online, filled the form in they were very reassuring, saying we will look at the usb free of charge then send a report over then you pay if you want it done. They had the usb for 8days and kept getting fobbed off. Finally they said they could recover the data but would cost £1520+vat just to see what was on the usb then if i want to proceed another £95+vat. I wanted the usb back that cost me £18 for a large letter that cost them £5! When it came back the usb has been pulled apart and not in a usable state, therefore i am unable to retrieve any data off ! Avoid!"
