I signed up with select home warranty for appliances . I was surprised when I had a problem with my freezer wasn't keeping things frozen and my ice maker stopped working . Had trouble getting g through to claims when I did was told I would need to file 2 claims as refrigerator and ice maker even though built in refrigerator would need 2 companies to service so instead of an 80 dollar charge I would be charged 160 for the one appliance. Then they told me I didn't have A policy on the ice maker which I could purchase for an additional 139 dollars in addition to the 160 dollar service charge I then asked to cancel both of my policies and was informed I would have to pay a cancellation fee on both my homes policies. First time trying to utilize my coverage felt was a rip off would recommend avoid select home warranty if contacted by them run the other way

Initial call to Sears was to have a freezer repaired under my warranty. The technician came and sprayed my freezer with water. Said the job was complete. “Give it a couple of hours and that’s all it needed.” as he walked out. After the fee was collected. The next day I still had no ice… I contacted at Sears back They then rescheduled an appointment. No one showed for this appointment. By end of day when I contacted Sears back, they had automatically given me a new appointment two weeks out. I was disgruntled and called the customer service. They told me they were sorry for the inconvenience but could reschedule a new appointment when I contacted them for someone else to come out. No one showed once again. I contacted the customer service and requested to cancel my warranty and was then told that they would make sure it was escalated to another department and once again, “sorry for the inconvenience”. Another appointment was then set up at which this time I received several text messages and a few representative phone calls confirming the appointment for 15th of September leading up to and including the day of. I once again took off work. No one showed up. I waited till 4:55 PM because the schedule was for an all day opening of 8 AM to 5 PM. When I was finally able to reach a representative they told me the new appointment had been pushed to September 22. I then told them that was unacceptable and that I could not take another day off work and wish to cancel the services completely. They then told me they were “so sorry” with there very passive aggressive tone. Stating that they could not cancel in the moment. I would have to wait and call back the following day as they cannot do that on the phone same day. This is the worst service I have ever received!! It is as if they do not care about their customers. There was a time when Sears stood for Quality, Care, and consideration for their clients. I would not recommend wasting your time as there is no follow up from their offices. And No technician will show up at your door!

Do NOT go with Choice Home Warranty. It takes weeks or months to get a technician out to your home and most of them seemed inexperienced. Do NOT go with Select Home Warranty because they will deny your claims. They will send you an email within an hour with some policy quote why they denied it. Even if you call them to appeal or clarify the claim, they still deny it. Also, both Choice Home Warranty and Select Home Warranty customer service seems to be handled overseas. Every customer service representatives sounded like foreigners. It’s funny because when you initially talk to someone to get a quote and sign up, they speak perfect English and sound 100% American citizens. I’ve invested in several home warranty companies since 2020 and they are all scams, even American Home Shield.

Choice home warranty is horrible sub par contractors .Compressor went out on a repair previously done by a contractor from choice home warranty. The compressor was faulty and didn’t even last four months.. I’ve been waiting four weeks in the middle of summer to get a contractor to fix my refrigerator.. they tried to send the same contractor out again. Never got an invoice. Never got a follow up. Never got my icemaker fixed nothing. Company only pays a certain amount on what they’re gonna fix in your contract. if there’s an added charge to your repair, The company makes you pay the difference between the repair amount and what the contractor is charging choice home warranty. So two repairs not only did I pay the 85.00 service fee.I had to pay extra to get my air conditioning fixed because choice would not pay for the cleaning service for the repair it’s supposed to be covered.Every repair on your AC heater unit gets cleaned after the parts are replaced. But choice home warranty only pays partial repair costs you get stuck for the rest of.Because they say it’s not covered.Horrible customer service too it’s always 3 to 4 weeks before you can get an appointment to get your repair started .

WE filed a small claim with Choice Home Warranty. We've been with them for about 4 years, always paying them for their services. Except this time, we needed help from them and they have been everything but helpful. Our garage door broke. The spring snapped off and nearly shook our whole house late night about 5 nights ago. We struggled lifting the door up in order to get our car out of the garage. We needed help from some friends. In the morning (June 25) We called Choice warranties to file a claim. We soon realized that everything was to be done by email. So, while we have no garage to lock or protect our car, we filed our claim via an email and waited...for over 24 hours before we receive an email tell us they would contact a repairman. Apparently they were "unable" to do that so, after another 24 hours of waiting, we received another email saying that we could now contact a repairman and we would need to get an estimate from the company we contacted, then file it via email on their claim form. We got the estimate ($519.00) and then, attempted to file it on their website, but it wouldn't work. After clicking on "submit" it kept saying our paperwork was not filed properly...or something like that. Now here is the problem: We have now attepted to file this claim eleven (11) different times but their site still says it's essentially our problem. Well the problem with that is we have called "Customer Service" 6 times and 5 of those times, one of their own representatives tried to walk us through it and they couldn't do it! So, after their failures, they told us to have the company who wrote the estimate to file the claim. Same issue!! They tried for nearly 2 hours and they gave up. So now, here we sit. We don't know what to do. We have a broken garage door and we have a company who seems to rave about their quality control yet they will not help us file this claim! We have followed everything they have told us to do, but it still will not submit. Their own representatives have tried everything and they can't get it submitted even though they admitted all our information was accurate and properly listed. They only thing we can conclude is, "Choice Home Warranties" is a fraudulent company. They have purposely created a file system that frustrates people so they will just pay the claim themselves to get the work done out of shear frustration with this company. We will probably try a few more dozen times then probably in a couple weeks out of shear frustration, we will pay for a company to fix our garage since "Choice Home Warranties" will not "fix" their submission process. Then we will dump this company as fast as we can. But then, our only retort will be to write as many reviews on the company as possible. In our view, they are fraudulent company that creates false claims to fool people to pay for their services. We can only hope that Trustpilot will use this review to keep other people from trusting this company. Pease, if you are reading our review, please know we are not "complaining" people. We just expected that what we have been paying for for several years would come to our aide and fix our garage door. Please...save yourself major frustrations. Please do not consider Choice Home Warranties for your home protection. They have really hurt us and let us down. And apparently they don't care. Thank you for reading.

Liberty Home Warranty is one of the biggest scamsand out there. Every claim I put through there was an issue. I just put a claim through for air conditioning repair. Turns out I need a new unit. They quoted me a price for $7,000 plus for a Goodman AC minus $2,000 that they would reimburse me for a total cost to me for $5+. Meanwhile I obtained a quote from a service company that quoted $5,500 for the same system with installation so in realty that weren’t given me the $2,000 reimbursement. I contacted them to see if the could just send me the $2,000 and I would purchase my own. I was told a resounding no, that if did that they would need proof of purchase and only send me $750. I told them to cancel and I was informed that if I did that the claim wouldn’t be honored. I said but I was covered when I put the claim in but he said it didn’t matter. I told him to cancel and they didn’t. I was still charge my monthly fee. They are horrible and just wanted to warn everyone to steer clear of them

Select Home Warranty does not disclose to consumers prior to purchasing their warranty products that when you file a claim and repairs are needed they will request 3 years of maintenance records. If you cannot produce those maintenance records the coverage they provide will only be a paultry $150.00 at best. If you are purchasing a home new to you and looking for a transparent warranty company, with good customer service, DO NOT use this company. Their representation of what they cover is misrepresented and the maintenance record requirement is only disclosed after you purchase a warranty with them.

Scam! Scam! Scam! I believe this company is the worst home warranty provider in the USA. They were having a promotion and of course I took the bait and it became one of the worst decisions I've made. Please note that any positive reviews you see on them are from those who have not filed a claim. They deserve zero stars but I had to give one in order to post the review. Let me walk you through their process: 1. First you must file a claim and this needs to be done with a phone call between the hours of 9:00 to 5pm - no holidays & no weekend so forget an emergency. 2. Once you finally get your claim submitted, good luck with getting a company to come out and repair your item. I had to go through three companies before someone would finally come out to just look at the problem. 3. If the item can be repaired then that's a good thing but wait a minute..... Now you have to wait for 30 days after the repair to make another claim no matter what breaks down. 4. If your item cannot be repaired they give you a cash in lieu which of course is never enough to cover the new item. Remember those 30 days? Your check will NOT be PROCESSED until 30 days after the repair person sends them a report that the item is unrepairable and you will NEVER EVER speak with the billing department because you have to wait until they call you.( They never call). 5. After the 30 days your check is finally processed but .....you have to wait 30 more days to get it in the mail, and if it does not come, then the 30 day process starts again when you request a new check to be sent. Remember, NO new claims while you're waiting. Guess what? It has been 6 months and I'm still waiting for my cash in lieu check and now my home warranty has expired. Of course I did not renew and that is why I'm still waiting. I call every week for an update and I keep getting a runaround.

I recently completed a Home Warranty program with SELECT HOME WARRANTY, 3 years and 6 months. I filed over 11 claims during that time. Over 50% were denied for one reason or another. I had nothing but problems with every claim that I initiated. The customer service was very difficult with resolving issues. I almost always had to ask for a supervisor (which took several days at best). I will look for a new home warranty company and I suggest you avoid SelectHomeWarranty.

Fidelity National Home Warranty Would give zero stars if possible. My experience with Fidelity National Home Warranty has been terrible. I just had my digital control panel go out on my 4 year old oven/microwave unit. They installed a new one but it is the wrong color, black instead of stainless. They say it's in the contract that they don't color match or brand match and as long as they can get the oven working that's all they are required to do. I even confirmed that the part number we received is the wrong one but they will not order the correct one. Now I have the purchase a new one at my own expense and have it installed. I also have the added refrigerator fee and when I needed to have that repaired it, of course, wasn't covered in the fine print. The coverage is a waste of money as they always find ways not to cover whatever you need repaired.

I signed up for a Select Home Warranty policy on October 21st of 2024. They immediately went into a hard sell for a longer term with all sort of incentives. I agreed to a 5 year plan at a cost of $3,008.62. In late November, my son lost his job and I needed to help him out financially. I also had regrets about having spent so much on this policy so I sent Select Home Warranty an email asking to cancel the plan. I received a reply saying that I had to call them which I did. They immediately wanted to know why I was canceling. I told them that should not be relevant and to just credit back my refund minus the administrative fee they charge since it was more than 30 days since I had bought the plan. It is now December 19th and I still haven't received my refund. I called them this morning to ask about the refund and I was again asked why I had canceled. When I again said it wasn't relevant, I was told they were putting me on hold for 45 minutes and proceeded to do so. Terrible customer service. No interest in doing anything but selling and upselling. I cannot think of a single positive thing to say about Select Home Warranty. They were sure quick to take my money and it seems that is all they are interested in doing.

This happened in july 2023 This is about the worst company you could go with. They usually can't find a pro they send a handyman, and that sometimes a week or two. They left me sitting for three weeks last summer during a heat wave and I'm in the south, so I'm talking 100 degrees or more, because they couldn't find an air conditioner company that would work for them because they either don't pay enough or take forever to pay. I had one tech, tell me they had been waiting 5 months and haven't gotten paid for a job, so nobody wants to work for them. Then they sent me a handyman, who, when he went to work on the unit, blew the electric out in half my house. It was another two weeks before they found an electrician, i need to tell me that the problem was not covered, which they do most of the time, so they are useless.

First American Home Warranty is terrible. They take your premium every month like clockwork but when it comes to submitting a service request you can expect it to take up to a month or more to get a repair. That is if they don’t find a reason to deny your claim. They use the worst of the worse subcontractors in your area to do the initial assessment and eventual repair. And there’s usually only one that they contract with, so you are stuck with them. These subcontractors are willing to do the work for pittance because they always find something that “needs” repair that isn’t covered. And those repair costs are more than what is usually charged by a reputable company. I wish I could find a reputable home warranty company.

First American Home Warranty - A/C has been down 24 days with average highs around 100 in Texas. They claim the motor for a 4 year old A/C unit is on back order. They have offered to buy us a fan or free standing A/C up to $150. I'd choose a different company if you need a warranty.

Worst home insurance company you can ever hire, good in the sales process and even better to find excuses no to cover you and get you fed up on their process and waiting in line for ages. On claim for for properties in one year. Result of that one claim, 4 appointments where they never showed up, finally when they did they rejected the claim. I needed to appeal and then they did want to cover. I was tired and just wanted out, cancelling the policy takes a week of your time calling them and they finding excuses to avoid cancelation.

Choice home warranty is the worst to deal with. In total 3 claims- I ended up paying out of pocket for all of them. They couldn’t find techs for service calls. First claim, they never found a tech in 2 weeks to fix the hot water heater in a house with kids in Boston winter. I had to just give up and buy a new one as I couldn’t wait any longer. The second claim the tech told me my out of pocket expense would be more than me just buying a new microwave! The third claim, they couldn’t find a tech again. When they finally did, he was a no call no show for the appointment. When I used my local guy, they did not agree with his diagnosis and denied the claim stating they don’t cover rust/ corrosion of pipes as I did not maintain it. ( tell me how you maintain pipes under/ inside of your jacuzzi??) No point in appealing- Their case managers ( I dealt with Tamika Cleare) are trained not to listen to the customer and just read the script stating what is not covered! Might as well install AI. I cancelled and asked for refund. They charged me penalty for cancelling service as well. I am yet to receive my money back. CHOICE was the worst choice!

Choice is a terrible warranty company! This is the 3rd time we made a claim and there is always some reason they can't cover a claim or they assign technicians that don't cover our area. Choice makes the consumer do most of the leg work in communicating with the technicians. This last claim is the last straw, I am immediately canceling and I will share on every social media review I can find how terrible there service is. Our air conditioner went out. I made a claim describing we had seniors in the house and needed the AC fixed as soon as possible. They took 2 days to try to find someone to service our area. Choice then sends an email asking us if we wanted to hire someone out of network since they were not finding anyone in network and they would reimburse us minus the service fee. We hired the people that actually installed the AC unit that had the issue. We send Choice the problem description, pictures, invoice and everything they asked, and on the same day Choice denied the claim stating we didn't get prior approval. I needed my AC unit fixed immediately! They completely ignored that this was an emergency and that we had seniors in the house as I stated in the claim. They make us do all the leg work, promising to reimburse us then find some technicality as to why they wont reimburse us. They always find a reason not to pay a claim! That's been our experience. Choice is the worst warranty company we have ever worked with. We had AHS before this and the only reason we stopped using them was because they started getting too pricey, but their service was so much more superior. They always did the leg work, we got decent technicians in a reasonable time, though they try hard not to replace stuff they actually did replace one of our ac units and one of our appliances inside the house. Choice is the complete opposite. We have not had one successful claim out of the 3 we made. I guess the moral of this experience is you get what you pay for.

Worst warranty company ever. Stay away. Our spring on our garage door needed to be replaced. We been with them 18 years and they only would give $140.00 for both springs on garage. They said $340.00 but that included trip call, labor and parts. We were supposed to send in payment for next year. But I’m doing a Chargeback for a scam company. I told them that’s a discount card not a warranty. Zero Stars if possible.
