"I purchased a Stria for my husband for Christmas November 2025. One month later, a Stria arrived, very tarnished, and old-looking. I was given the option to clean it myself for a small amount of cash back or send it back to the company postage-paid, and the company would send another Stria. I sent back the Stria, and now I have not received any indication of if or when my replacement Stria will be sent, with no refund, no response since April 2026. I will be forced to ask my credit card company to get my money back from Makers Cabinet. I am very very disappointed and feel as though the company has stolen my money for no explanation or apology or product more than 6 months later. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone."
"Happy with the product however the delivery was not so good. The order was confirmed 28/04/26 and I received an email from MC 30/04/26 to say it was 'on its way'. I received an email from Evri 10/05/26 saying they had the parcel and a further email 11/05/26 saying it was out for delivery, with a time slot. I had asked for it to be delivered to a neighbour as I was away. My neighbour didn't receive the parcel but I subsequently received an email from Evri with a photo showing the package hanging out of my letterbox! Fortunately my neighbour was able to recover it. I think perhaps you need to review your choice of delivery method."
"The company touts its high quality parts by resting heavily on the statement that their products are "Designed in London". If you go to the contact page, you'll find the company is headquartered in Australia. And if you purchase a product, you'll find it ships from an "unknown origin"... and if you dig into that because it's taking a long time, you'll find out it's shipping from random Chinese factory #8. I have no issues with something coming from China per se, but they are going out of their way to make it seem as though that is NOT where it is manufactured - and I have a big problem with the lack of transparency and honesty in a company that purports to sell premium products."

"Well, I cannot comment on the quality or usefulness of this product as I had to refuse delivery. Makers Cabinet uses UPS for delivery who charges extortionist brokerage fees which I refuse to pay. I am not going to pay almost 50% of the cost of this item in brokerage fees when all other delivery options to Canada charge only a nominal fee. I have contacted Makers Cabinet with my concerns and have yet to hear back, so I guess their customer service isn’t as good as their products have been reported to be. Not happy"

"“Built to last and shine through generations of pen lovers” says the blurb on the Lazlo Pen. I was bought one by my son for Xmas. It arrived with a non-functioning cartridge. Ok Schmidt’s fault, not MC’s but when I raised a complaint on their website I got an acknowledgment but no response. A calendar month later, the magnetic clutch is not working! The clip is loose. I’m particularly annoyed as I took this as my EDC on holiday because it is great pen even if I had to get my own replacement cartridge. For a pen that is meant to last, one that stops working after a month is very disappointing. I have contacted MC again and expect a replacement process once I am back in the UK, as I am not happy with this pen. Other MC products I have , the Hovel and Ferrule are really good."

"I own the Lazlo (pen) and the drop holder, as well as the Ferrule (pencil). The Lazlo is by far my favorite pen (I'm quite a pen addict). The brass ages beautifully with use and the mechanism is smooth with an extremely satisfying "click". As an artist and former designer I'm never without a pencil and Maker's clever design allows me to carry my pencil without worrying about breaking the tip or marking my clothes (a former and very frequent annoyance). Best of all--the weight. Not too heavy, not too light. Any questions I've had have been answered promptly and my orders arrive here in the States quickly. Truly, Maker's Cabinet products are first rate!"
