"TOTAL SCAM, IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL THE RENEWAL OR REQUEST A REFUND AS PROVIDED BY THE EU CONSUMER LAW I activated Praktika with at one month promotional price. Right after having activated it, I realized I wasn't able to change my native language so I couldn't use it for the learning needs I had. I opened a support ticket, and for 2 weeks I kept getting the same response - "our tech team is on it, wait up to 2 weeks". Given I wasn't able to use the product, and as a EU citizen I am entitled to 14 days cooling-off period - no questions asked - I requested a refund multiple times but kept getting the same "our tech team is on it, wait up to 2 weeks" reply. Today my credit card got charged for the full-price renewal and I still don't have a way to cancel the subscription, left alone receive the refund - which would now be for two renewals. Happy to provide evidence of my conversation with the support team."

"Disappointed - the adds show decent avatars, but the low grade actual avatars were distracting, I'd rather just hear a voice than see that. The language model used doesn't understand that when speaking English and asking to say a portuguese word, portuguese pronunciation is required, not English. The actual portuguese taught is good, just not the UI experience."

"I am very disappointed with Praktika. The app does not work in the way it is presented in the advertising, especially when it comes to correcting mistakes. I expected the AI tutor to correct my errors immediately while I was speaking, but this often does not happen. In practice, the app feels more like a slightly improved or “warmed-up” version of Duolingo rather than a serious tool for learning to speak a language fluently and accurately. There are also technical problems. Sometimes the AI tutor speaks, but what comes out is complete gibberish, with words mixed together and the sentence making no sense at all. For an app that is advertised as offering realistic AI conversation and immediate feedback, this is very disappointing. The concept is good, but the actual learning experience does not match the promises made in the advertising."

"I think this app has great potentiaI and could use some improvemnt. I like that when I say a sentence, I can review my pronunciation each word at a time afterwards. However, I don't like that the initial instruction given by my tutor is pronounced as if it were English (I'm trying to learn French). This makes it hard for me, I get to hear the correct pronunciation when I get to the "correcting" part."

"On 23rd September 2026, I purchased a one-year premium subscription to the Praktika app via a Facebook promotion of their app. The payment of £51.99 was successfully debited from my NatWest account immediately, but the premium access was never activated on my user profile. I contacted Praktika's customer support department immediately on 24th September 2026 via email to resolve the technical error. I provided them with my account details and unique app user ID. I have since sent two follow-up chase emails. Praktika has completely ignored all correspondence, failed to provide the service paid for, and failed to issue a refund. I was looking forward to using the app after reading the reviews . I am no left feeling frustrated, disappointed and scammed"

"I just signed up with a 50% discount, I have been using Duolingo for free, this app is helping me with conversation skills. Real life situation practice. I have 1 year to practice with it. I think it’s going to work out for me just fine. Maybe I’ll post another review in 6 months"

"It was not easy getting started with the app. I work on a computer upon which i registeted and did not realise that it only works via a phone app. Disappointing. Much better if I could work at my screen and take notes. Holding the Mike button down means I cannot take notes. Avatar not very realistic but her accent is excellent. Promising but not convinced to extend my 1 week contract yet"

"I started with Dualingo and got really really good at Dualingo but still couldn't hold an adult coversation. This app was a little intimidating at first but the interface is great and I am already having conversations with the AI tutor so it has been worth it so far. We will see next year if I am able to progress."
