Rooted PMHNP Mentorship

"After four and a half years in community mental health, I was burnt out and wanted my own practice, but felt super nervous about the business stuff. I'm good clinically, but the backend was completely unknown to me. The challenge eased those anxieties—the money day helped me move from spending without a plan to productive financial management, and the time management templates were invaluable. The mentorship program's supportive community was the final piece of the puzzle. Just eight months later, I opened 'True Self Mental Health,' my virtual LGBTQ+ practice, and saw my first patient. If you're thinking about private practice but feel overwhelmed by the business side, this program gives you the roadmap and confidence to build something meaningful. – Hallick, PMHNP - New Hampshire/Massachusetts"

"I joined this program years before I was even ready to start my practice, and looking back, it was one of the best decisions I made. Life happened—I had a baby, took time off, and hit unexpected roadblocks—but because I had access to the mentorship and resources, I never felt stuck. When I was ready, I had everything I needed: a clear roadmap, step-by-step guidance, and a supportive community to turn to. Now I’ve been able to launch my hybrid perinatal mental health practice! The program didn’t just help me start—it evolved with me. Having mentorship meant I didn’t have to waste months figuring things out on my own. If you’re thinking about private practice but don’t know when you’ll start, this program will be there when you’re ready. It was for me. — Jocelyn, PMHNP"

"I'd been an NP for almost 10 years but never knew how to start my own practice. After my second child was born, I found Alysha's program and decided to quit my job during maternity leave to go all-in. Crazy timing with a 6-month-old, but the program gave me everything I needed. Now, almost two years later, I have 80 patients, work just 3 days a week, and make $150-200+ per appointment versus $125/hour at my old job. I'm booked out 2-3 weeks and just hired my first assistant. The lifetime access and NP community support is invaluable—you're never alone in this journey. If you have the drive but not the time to research everything yourself, this will save you months of spinning your wheels. — Chau, PMHNP-BC, Northern California"

"I was exhausted and unfulfilled. My job pushed me to see more patients than I was comfortable with; and worse, I wasn’t working with the population I was truly passionate about. My heart was in perinatal mental health, but I felt stuck. On top of that, I was working full-time—40 hours a week—while trying to build a practice on the side. It was overwhelming, and at first, I struggled to get patients quickly enough. I thought I had no choice but to take insurance just to survive, but I stayed the course. I built my brand, focused on my niche, and slowly transitioned toward a cash-pay model. Now, two years later, I’m full-time in my practice, bringing in consistent $10K months. Not only that, but I’m creating a high-ticket, specialized program to serve my patients at an even deeper level. The journey wasn’t easy, but I finally have the career—and life—I always wanted."

"More than a mentor, but a friend who is always available to meet . my business woudlnt be where it is if i didnt have rooted pmhnp."

"Starting my own practice was always a dream, but I felt trapped by my non-compete agreement. It was a huge challenge to work around, and at times, I wondered if it would be worth the fight. Meanwhile, my job was pushing me to see more and more patients every day, making me feel like I was drowning. I knew something had to change. With my husband’s business management background and the guidance from this program, we put a plan together. Within six months of joining, I was able to open my own insurance-based practice. In just three months, we had 100 patients. I finally had the freedom to provide care on my own terms, without being rushed through appointments. Looking back, the obstacles that once seemed impossible were just stepping stones to where I am now. The risk was worth it. — Amy, PMHNP & Brian, Practice Owners"

"As a single mom, the idea of starting a private practice felt like an impossible dream. I was dealing with multiple personal crises, had limited financial resources, and couldn't imagine how I'd manage it all. My biggest fear was failing my child - either by not being present enough or by risking our financial stability. But I was also dying inside from the stress of my job at an outpatient clinic, missing important moments in my child's life. Within six months of starting the program, I had 70 insurance patients and, more importantly, the flexibility to be there for my child. For the first time, I'm in control of both my practice and my life. It's possible to have both - I'm living-proof"

"The thought of navigating insurance credentialing and finding a collaborating physician seemed overwhelming. I was stuck in an unfulfilling job, dreaming of independence but paralyzed by the complexity of it all. Working with Alysha changed everything. Within three months - yes, just three months - I had 100 insurance patients. Her templates and guidance simplified what seemed impossible. Now I have a thriving insurance-based practice that runs smoothly, strong collaborative relationships, and the freedom I always wanted. To anyone feeling stuck where I was - it's possible, and it's worth it.-- Cristin, Massachusetts PMHNP"

"I can’t speak highly enough about Rooted PMHNP Mentorship. I found them on Instagram and was inspired from the start. I was able to take the leap in my first year of practice and leave unhealthy workplaces to cultivate something aligned with my practice views. The foundational skills I learnt helped me view things from a business framework and start to recognize my value and worth. Fast forward almost 24 months later and this little solo practice has 4 providers, 6 support staff and continues to grow. We constantly credit our success to Alysha giving us the skills and confidence to get going!"

"After years as a neurology NP, taking time off for my child, and then returning to school for psychiatric specialization, I was terrified about starting over. Could I really build a cash-pay practice in a saturated market? Would patients pay premium rates? How would I balance motherhood with practice ownership? These questions kept me up at night. But following Alysha's guidance, I built a practice of 30 high-fee cash patients within just 7 months. I recently celebrated my first $9K month, and it keeps growing. The best part? I finally have the balance I always wanted with my family." Sara, California PMHNP"
