"This company has really gone downhill in the last 5 years. They treat their clients like chattels not customers. I would give a 0 if I could. Will be looking for another place to do business. Don't know who they think They are serving, but it is not us. 1.6 stars says it all."

"I am moving my investment to another bank and for them to proceed such thing is like they are sculpting my money to be transferred. It’s been 3 weeks and still says pending. My current bank has completed all they have asked for but yet no progress with this transaction."
"I wish I could give them a zero. This bank is a joke. I was with Connect first / First Calgary for 40yrs and they knew customer service. Servus Credit Union is awful. Poor service. They hold your cheques for 4 days even though it is the same company of 15yrs we have been with. They said it is the Servus policy. I am looking around Avoid them. We won't even discuss their locations and hours."
"If I could give a negative star I would. Connect First and Servus merged May 1, 2024. 25 months later, Servus still has not merged the accounts. I went to the teller today for get $500 in cash as the ATM only give out $20's. 12 minutes later, I asked the Teller what the hold up is. She replied that they haven't given them access to any Connect First accounts as of yet. They have to send a message to their Head Office and wait for them to give them authorization to give me money out of my account. I told her that is absolutely ridiculous they haven't merged it in over 2-years, and I will go to the ATM and get 25x$20 instead. As for their telephone banking, every time I call, it is someone in training. With me being both the teacher and the guinea pig."
"Unfortunately, I'm not happy with the system of this bank. I have to call every time if I need to login. They can't fix it. The customer services not best at all. They are looking for get money from the customer, but not looking to be a partner investments or in general. I do highly not recommended to have any accounts with this bank. For many more reasons which I do not wrote them all yet."

"If I could give '0' stars, I would! Servus is a Credit Union in name only. It is now just like the big banks, which was the reason I became a member of the Credit Union. I started with First Calgary, then it became Connect First. Service and interest rates back then were still fairly reasonable for savings accounts. Now, with the amalgamation with Servus, the three branches I used to use are now closed. Everything was moved to Servus, where they don't know me, and are not at all close to what the other Credit Unions used to be. What ever happened to 'loyalty'? Since 1990, I haven';t dealt with big banks, choosing instead, to remain loyal to the Principles of a Credit Union. Well, unfortunately those principles of a Credit Union seem to be long gone! I have two Grandfathered accounts. They used to pay interest. Now, they don't. Not a penny! They tell me to get a GIC or open a different savings account...Why? My accounts, if they are grandfathered, should not have changed! Terribly disappointed and I have nothing good to say about Servus Credit Union!"

"Absolutely pathetic service. This company has gone WAY down over the last 5 years. Be careful how you pay your credit card. They will hold the money until the end of the month before applying it to you CC balance completely screwing your ability to manage your cash flow."
"I’m disappointed by the lack of flexibility from Servus. As a new member still moving my finances over, I was hit with a $48 NSF fee for a simple oversight. When I looked into it, I found that they are charging significantly more than the $10 cap required of regular banks. It’s discouraging to see a credit union take advantage of regulatory loopholes to hit their members with such heavy penalties. I expected better service."

"Review: 0/5 Stars – Total Financial Incompetence and Empty Apologies If I could give Servus Credit Union zero stars, I would. My experience with the Shawville Blvd SE branch in Calgary has been a masterclass in how to lose a loyal customer’s trust through gross incompetence and a complete lack of accountability. The "Estimate" shell game When you are dealing with a mortgage, you expect 100% accuracy. Instead, Servus provided me with four different quotes in a single week. The final bi-weekly payment ended up being over $115 higher than the initial quote they provided. That’s a discrepancy of nearly $3,000 per year in fixed costs that was "missed" in their original math. When I questioned this, I was told their branch "calculators" don't match their backend team—which is a terrifying admission of internal dysfunction for a financial institution. Administrative Nightmare Because of their administrative bungling during the transition, they debited my account three times in a single month. One full monthly payment followed by two bi-weekly payments. While they acknowledged this "higher-than-usual outflow," they acted as if it was a minor scheduling quirk rather than a massive hit to a household's monthly cash flow. Zero Accountability The most insulting part? The branch manager actually called me to apologize, explicitly admitting they "made mistakes at every turn" and failed to follow the correct processes. Yet, after admitting they failed me as a client, they followed up with a cold email stating they were "unable to offer any financial goodwill gesture" or loyalty discount. The Verdict Servus Credit Union is happy to admit they are wrong, but they are unwilling to do a single thing to fix it. They expect the customer to pay the price for their professional failures. An apology is just hot air when it isn't followed by action. The second I can break this mortgage and move to a lender that actually knows how to use a calculator and values its members, I am gone. I won't give this institution one cent more than I am legally obligated to. Avoid the Shawville branch at all costs."

"Awful service on their phone lines . They claim someone is supposed to be there to answer. 24/7 . But if you call later you just get a greeting with the option to call back . Last night I waited on the phone for just over an hour , finally pressed #9 for a call back . It’s now 11:15am the next day , with no call back . This has happened a few times now . I’m considering pulling out my business from them due to crappy service ."
"I deposited a Government of Canada dental cheque for which the funds were with held for 6 days. Yes, 6 days. In the meantime I wrote a cheque in the same amount for deposit to a different bank account and Servus did not honor the cheque I wrote 3 days after the initial Government cheque was deposited. For this privilege, Servus debited my account $48.00. No notice from Servus on any of this. No email; no text. If you are going to bank here, you need an eagle eye to watch these guys!"

"I have been waiting for 4 months for the estate department to remove my deceased husband's name from accounts. His estate is being delt with by a different bank and is complete. I have been told they are backloged until September! Very poor service!! Until now I have been very pleased with Connect First service. Something needs to be done with estate services."

"It is not advisable to use this service. I have been a victim of their fraudulent act and i hope we put an end to this."

"I have been with servus credit union for years, but I'm thinking it's time to close my account after my account is blocked once again. This happens to me multiple times a year. I never receive any kind of notification through text, email, or a phone call informing me that it ia blocked. I have called in twice today and both times the representative have no idea why it is blocked. So it remains blocked! Waiting for a call back now for five hours now. They pester me every time to get their Mastercard. I just want a functioning bank account!!!"

"It is not friendly for senior people. If you have RRIF in the bank, it will charge you $50 for processing fee every time you withdraw. The policy is so radicular for senior then I just called it as a simple way to exploit old people. That kind of account is most likely owned by senior people for RRSP transferring to RRIF for retirement life income source. This is just for reminding senior people, use this bank be careful and should keep away form this bank. $50 is not a small amount for senior people not to say it is roughly need more than 3 hours to earn this for junior worker."
"I took an intact insurance refund check for my auto loan, bearing Servus’ and my name. once the managers saw me, they insinuated and assumed check was not valid. They asked me to tell intact to re-issue a new check directly to them. Knowing fully well that it will take another 2-3 weeks and they will be getting interest in for that period. Consequently the scrapped off hundreds of dollars from me in the process. Servus credit is a scam. Don’t deal with them!!!!!!!"

"I have been Connect First Credit Union customer since 2013 and it was like a family member. They always call you for any reason or answer the phone right away when calling the branch. Now that it changed the name to Servus Credit Union it’s not the same service, for the past 2 days I have been calling the branch, after 30 minutes waiting and leaving my call back number I haven’t received a call back."

"I want to share my experience with Servus Credit Union in case others encounter similar issues. On January 29, 2026, my account was suddenly restricted due to an alleged fraud concern. This was related to e-transfers I received from a verified friend. I was given no prior notice, no explanation, and no clear timeline for when the restriction would be lifted. Since then, I have been trying to get answers for 26 days. Each time I contact the branch or fraud department, I am told the same thing: “Still waiting for a response or direction from the fraud department.” That’s been the response for nearly a month — with no progress, updates, or meaningful communication. This has caused serious financial stress. I’ve missed payments and been unable to access funds that are rightfully mine. Attempts to escalate the issue with my branch manager have been frustrating, as I have been given vague or repetitive responses with little transparency. I understand fraud prevention is important, but freezing a member’s funds without communication, explanation, or a timeline is not acceptable. The lack of updates and unclear process has made this situation unnecessarily stressful and financially harmful. I hope Servus Credit Union improves communication and resolves these issues faster, and I want others to be aware that this kind of experience is possible."
"Excellent Customer Service I am treated far better the other big banks. I actually enjoy going to the branch; they know my first name. Thanks Servus !"
"Here is a institution that does not value its long term customers, I put thousands of dollars though this institution over 20 years. They had a decent reputation 20 years ago but have slowly deteriorated to a pitiful excuse of what they call banking. If you want you same service as a full bank you will be very disappointed .Customer service is almost impossible to get hold of and have limited knowledge .I would say run for the hills before you enter this institution."
