Scammers: You cancel a loan and they don't return the money you paid in advance or anything. They just keep trying to get you to keep paying and keep paying. They don't stop LYING.
The person that manage my account is called Somnah Khadidja Berte in Societe General in Paris. They are the worst bank ever! Customer service zero! The system will steal you money every time there is a deposit taken from the hotels even the hotel say that the money will be reimburse from 5 to 7 business days the person that manage my account will say that the money was never taken away even I saw they did take it out. My other case was with AIRBNB I did a cancellation of an AIRBNB booking, Airbnb say that the money should be reimburse from 7 to 15 days and the money was never back in my account. Both of them gave me proof that the money was release, it was only in the bank that didn’t proof it! They doesn’t make you feel safe! There is a big problem with customer service because in France they will protect even the worst employee so they can say whatever and will never get fired.
We had our Lexus NX car stolen in late May 2024. After more than 3 months (August 26) with no return of the car or offer of a payout from the insurance company, we are now more the victims of the incompetence of the insurance company than the Romanian perpetrators who initially stole our car. Customer service is non-existent!!!
There are some advantages of brick and morter banks. There is a real person who meets you and understands your problems. They can explain the procedure to you, but can also advise you how to get things done faster. Thank you Société Général, for maintaining your branch Dijon faculté, 50 bd Jeaenne d'Arc. Some really nice people work there.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I have been trying to sell my shares for weeks and they don't recognise the banking information from one of the biggest banks in the world! You can't contact them without spending a fortune in calls to France, where you continually get cut-off and have to start again, and again, and again. They told me to post my banking information, which I did, and weeks later they have still done nothing. It's unbelievable and they should be regulated by some sort of ombudsman... just look at all of the terrible reviews and stay away from them... absolutely useless!
Very expensive bank. If there is a problem with the credit card they do not solve it. The card is insured for "fraud" online. I was taken for 100 euro, the bank did not solve the problem and even charge me banking cost for this opposition !! I closed the account
need customer service training, don't use them if you can help it!!
The worst bank I have ever dealt with. Rude and useless I had an appointment booked and the manager called 10 minutes before to say too bad I’m not there. No hint of a sorry for the inconvenience Same manager took 2 months to reply to me for a bank transfer Closing all our family accounts and insurance
Useless company.They logged me out of my account and now it wouldn’t allow me to log back in and have disconnected my account.Rubbish Kwasi company with compliance employees and a failing costumer device system.
A terrible, terrible bank. Everything is a problem, nothing works, all their processes are set up to suit themselves - they add on charges everywhere, they don't answer messages, their online banking goes offline whenever they feel like it, they'll send you to your branch in person for anything, but also close branches without warning - consistently, awful.. avoid at all costs!!!

I don't recommend to save your money in an account of Societe Generale. I had there some savings that my ex company paid me and after finishing my contract and asking the refund of my money, the bank kept 71 EUR from the total. And we're speaking about an account that supposely is free, because is for savings. So free that in the end I had to pay 71 euro of fee. It's a shame! Don't save your money there if you want to have them all!
One of the worst Bank expiriences ever and that counts for the whole Groupe.Exorbitant Charges,and bad general Client Service,many Times i felt discriminated because iam not rich.Absolute no go!!! The worst bank ever! I am so disappointed. After being a loyal client for many years, and having been serious about all my payments, all of a sudden the bank decided to change my credit card into debit, within the same month; while I was in a difficult situation. This is how they help their clients!!! Not to mention the commissions that they charge... they must have become rich by just my commissions. If I could let the entire world know how bad they are, I would. I hope to God that all their clients start walking away and they go bankrupt!
Bank and staff are okay, but monthly charges are a killer!
After ten years loyalty by using the bank for project I was very disappointed by their refusal to grant our company our payment holiday for three months through the third National Lockdown. All of our other regular lenders agreed to assist whilst we were closed. This should the the lenders has no empathy and doesn’t care about its customers. I would advise anyone thinking of using them to think twice, as they won’t be there in your time of need. Utterly, appalled by their poor customer service.
If I could let a minus infinite stars, I will do that... Every 6 months, it's been decades that I'm with this bank, everything was really good, employees were nice with me and my family, b'cause my entire family is with that bank. But recently, the service went awful, there are not even respecting customer, for some operations, they are asking some documents such as ID card but at final, they don't need it or it's not allowed to do this operation. Anyway, if you stay in France and you want a bank account, I advice you to create a dematerialized bank account such as N26 or Hello Bank.
This bank have caused us serious distress since October 2019, they have lied to us, threatened us, gave us a cheque interdiction, charges totalling over 3k which could have been avoid, now when credits come into our bank account they take them out, hold them for three days, make us overdrawn and then have the audacity to charge us for being overdrawn. They are rude, unresponsive, takes days or weeks to reply. I have a tourist business and had to shut for three months because of COVID 19, they decided to make us pay back our 1500k overdraft even though we had no money!!! They are incompetent fools and I would recommend you do not use this bank. What they are doing to our account at the moment seems illegal.
