This company sends monthly statements about my loan payments which keeps me up to date.
Was extremely frustrated with the need to continuely send more information. I understand the reason for the additional papers but wish they could have been listed upfront and not bit-by-bit. Also despite you sending me a pre-approved offer, you required proof of a physical address. I called and explained that we do not have mail delivery, only PO Boxes, but this held up my application.
This process took absolutely forever (2 weeks). There were multiple people requesting the same information. There was no single point of contact so I was unable to get true status reports. I called 8 times over the span of 2 weeks and was told "someone will call you", "we can't verify your employment", "your employment is verified but we are waiting on underwriting". Noone had a clear answer until I unexpectedly received an approval for a significantly lesser amount. Noone could explain to me the reasoning. Overall, the process was mismanaged at my expense when I had high hopes and expected better of Sofi.
This is my experience with SoFi and I can understand why people like it. Their savings account APY is fantastic and the 4.5% introductory rate was tantalizing. It was super easy to open up but was super disappointed when I was not approved for a credit card. I had a 799 FICO score, a steady job, and have never missed a credit card payment. Confused as I was I reached out to their support. They all give the same copy and pasted responses and it's not much different than talking to the AI they have filter you out. They are not knowledgeable at all and could only tell me I have limited credit experience. I asked many different people and escalated my issue 3 times for clarification until they told me someone would call me and hopefully have a clearer answer. 4 days later I get an email that someone is going to call me today and not even 10 minutes later I get a call. Great. Until they hang up 3 seconds into ringing and they give me a notification that I missed their call. Super pissed I went to their support for probably the 10th time and the copy and pasting support agent this time somehow gives me some random phone number to call that isn't SoFi. Every support agent they have is kind in their copy and pasted responses to you but they hardly ever sufficiently answer your question leaving you in a more sour mood than before. I applied again after a month of waiting and was instantly denied again and the options they have are really crappy secured credit cards with no rewards. Decided to take my money elsewhere.
Quick and easy
The process was easy. Once I finished filling out short form, loa was approved automatically. With a very good interest rate and terms of repayment.
The process was easy to complete and approval didn’t take long. They needed additional documentation which I think delayed the approval a little bit but once they got those documents, approval was quick. I will say that the interest rate was a little confusing. It’s one rate on my loan documents. Another rate that was offered to me in on the app for auto billing and then another rate on my monthly statement so the true interest rate is just a little bit confusing but overall, I would recommend Sofi to friend and family.
This company is horrible. They have zero customer service and randomly freezes peoples money and the consumer can do nothing. Do not deal with them.
Stunningly unprofessional and in effective. Please avoid. One agent has no clue what another agent is doing with your account One will say one thing while another will state the exact opposite.
I have a Sofi savings, checking and an investment accounts. I hate its investment account very much! First, it doesnt allow pre-market trading, so my orders can only be executed at or after 9:30 ET. In 2 years, I have sold stocks twice in this accounts, and each time I had to contact them in order to withdraw the full transaction amount. This time, they said because I withdrew 25k on the same day I sold the stock, there was interest on margin that I owed. However, i don't have a margin account, and I have never agreed to pay the interest on the same day withdrawal! Sofi failed to mention that. I only withdrew the money on that day because it said the money was available for withdrawal. Now, to get my margin interest back, I have to wait for almost a month for them to credit the interest. It is nothing but a pain. Not to mention the unbelievable amount of time I spent to get them to figure out and to fix the issue. I have never had issues with Fidelity or Schwab after 30+ yrs of trading. I will never trade in the Sofi account again. I will definitely close it after I withdraw my full account.
It was super quick and efficient. I was referred by a friend who is a satisfied customer as well. Funding was fast, and they were very upfront about what was going on in each step. I was informed before credit was pulled, and the CS agent I spoke with was great.
First, the customer service is superb! All agents I interacted with were simply amazing and very knowledgeable. Second, how easy it was to process our loan, and become approved. We are now at ease and relieved of having only one payment a month.
These people are ableist bigots. Their policies discriminate against disabled people and they hang up on me CONSTANTLY because they cant be bothered to be educated on how to listen or speak to disabled people. This is disgusting and inexcusable.

I had been having trouble getting a loan that I needed. Everyone I talked to wasn't listening. This process was easy the application was user friendly and interesting will definitely recommend to family and friends.
