DO NOT GET THIS CARD/ KEEP YOUR WISELY The website does not work and customer service is horrible. I could barely understand the representative then she only repeated cardholder policy then hung up in my face. She also gave me the wrong phone number to call a whole other entity, no transfer. SHAME on my company for linking to this shoddy banking system.
I was preapproved for an auto loan by US Bank and found a vehicle. The dealership prepared the paperwork to give to US Bank and I did. The staff was willing to take my down payment but would not give me the check to purchase the vehicle they preapproved me for!!!!!! They wouldn't even look at the paperwork!!!! I went to the dealership and just used THEIR financing instead. I'M NOW LOOKIN FOR A NEW BANK!!!!
I absolutely recommend US Bank to everyone I know that is looking to purchase a home. My mortgage loan officer Kelli Everett is INCREDIBLE! I believe if it wasn’t for her and her team I would’ve lost my home. I was struggling for 4 months trying to close on my home before I met Kelli. After she got involved my loan process when SOOOO smoothly and I closed on 09/16/2025! I want to say thank you to Kelli and her team for all of their help getting me my dream home♥️
This has to be the worst bank. I paid off my credit card through a loan service and they overpaid. US Bank owes me $86 for the overage and told me that I needed to verify in order to get the check sent out. They transferred me to a line that rang for 45 minutes and no one picked up. I also paid off my mortgage. I didn't get an email of payoff or any communication. I had to call to find out that they owed me another $79 dollars and they will be mailing me a check for that. Their customer service is sub par. They have long wait times on the phone and most of the people you speak with do not actually want to help you, they want to transfer you. Overall for both credit card and mortgage this bank comes up very short. Use someone else and be glad you did.
Ive had this bank for years it has done nothing but gone downhill soon i will switch banks. I file a dispute, and they don't do it on their end the company continues taking my money lost forever, i don't make money i lose it here. Over and over i called the merchant said cancel me then file a dispute with this bank USBank i think they go by US.BANCORP location Minnesota and it continues to go on and this is not the first time its happen then after their failure i tell them to block this company they charge u 30 dollars like what is this, this bank is run by a bunch of thief's just after ur money not caring one bit about ur savings or checking's. Look ive been with them long and still am it's just a hassle to switch but soon it will be done because I've had enough with their lousy service and not caring one bit about their customers.
US Bank has a running issue with misleading advertising for their US Bank Go Visa Credit Card offer. The offer states: Just spend $1,000 in Net Purchases in the first 90 days and receive $200 (or 20,000 points). When I reached 21,500 points, I was only allowed to redeem $150 as a statement credit. Technically, I should be able to redeem $215. The representative mentioned they changed the rules (after I signed up) and that redemptions could only be made in increments of 3.333. The representative advised me to use a calculator. Is there a lawyer available to address this issue? She stated that the full amount of $200 is applicable only if I open or already have a US Bank checking or savings account. However, where is that indicated? I searched thoroughly and only found this in the fine print: Redeem points toward a deposit to an eligible U.S. Bank account, merchandise, gift cards, travel, and more. In that case, I would like a $215 gift card. Unfortunately, the representative was unable to fulfill this request as well. This bank's conduct is unacceptable. It's unheard of to encounter such a lack of professionalism from a financial institution that's supposed to be well-regarded. Shame on US Bank.
After going through several agents that were very invasive in asking for my personal information (over the top), while my account was restricted for some strange unknown reason. They would not validate the reason and kept transferring me to another agent that again ask the same very invasive questions. I was transferred 4+ times and still no answers. I decided to no longer bank with US BANK because their customer service is not good at all in my opinion. They make it very hard for their customers to do business with them.
I was happy when I first started my checking account with US Bank. Now I regret it! I am constantly being overdrawn because they do not let you see pending transactions in the background. This bank does not show transactions done over the weekend until Monday, as long as it is not a holiday. Overdraft protection is great until they decide too bad for you. At my old bank I never had to worry about keeping tract myself. It was always up to date on there site/app.
I received a letter from USBank back in March advising me to do one of 3 things so my business account does not get assessed an inactivity fee. I performed one of the 3 tasks (sign on to my account on the app or computer) but the account was still assessed an inactivity fee in May. I called Customer Support and received confirmation that I conducted one of the 3 actions and would reverse the charge after my account is unlocked in a few days. I didn't see any changes after a week and called Support back. The analyst advised me these fees are not reversible and the manager I spoke to confirmed it as well. She even told me that she couldn't find a record of my online activity as they're only allowed to view 3 months' worth of activity. Why am I getting inconsistent answers?
My only complaint with usbank is that, for example this month they showed I had a balance of 135 including my pending transactions, the only thing that changed after two days was that I transferred 30 to my Venmo account and suddenly today ALL my daily balance information has been completely changed and I have a balance of 30 showing! This happens every single month!! I took pictures to prove it and I am going to talk to them in person about this, I am tired of what feels like “bait and switch “ game!!
Everyone Ive dealt with at this bank is very condescending. It's impossible to reach anyone, you have to request an appointment for them to call you. I've had this account for 2-1/2 months and twice been charged a maintenance fee that is supposed to be waived. Since opening this account I've been bombarded with marketing emails, texts, and notifications that although I keep trying to opt-out of, I keep receiving them. Their app is extremely difficult to use because it's flooded with self-advertising masquerading as services. As soon as they give me my $12 back, I'll be closing this account.
I opened a credit card end of last year. The bonus offer for spending $6k was after 180 days of opening the credit card. I called end of March I believe to ask if I would make the cut off of the 180 days if I made my next purchase, which would total to $6k. She had mentioned that if it is posted before the billing cycle ends, which was in a couple days, I possibly could make it. I called back again within that month to confirm if I had made it. The representative CONFIRMED I had spent the $6k and that I was eligible for the bonus offer of $750. I then again called the following month as I had not seen it enter my bank account. The woman stated it would take one more billing cycle and if not to call again. I had again wanted to confirm if I was eligible just to be sure. She CONFIRMED I was eligible and did the math and complied to the 180 days and spent $6k. I waited again another month to call again. They were not sure why it was not on my account, and escalated the ticket to upper management. I waited and did not hear back. I then got mail saying that I did not qualify. I was confused as this was not what I was told. I called again and upper management was notified and to call me back. I spoke with a manager eventually and was told I did not spend the $6k in 180 days. I went over with her that these were on recorded calls and I was told information twice by representatives I would be receiving my $750 bonus offer. I claimed I would not have waited all this time in to put in a complaint months down the road if I had known from the start but was instructed I would make the cut off. She then tried to tell me I did not spend the $6k and so that is why and I stated that was not the case as I can see the transactions on my end, and as well with the other representatives. She also then tried to state I did not make it in 180 days, but a week after that. I had said I had spoken with a representative about it being effective of when it posted within that billing cycle. After trying to figure this out, she tried to give me $100 for my time. I declined as this was not acceptable. I would not have wasted all my time in following up and making sure I met the requirements to not be offered what was on the intro offer. I would have requested to check into this matter the first day I called and this would not have been an issue. This has been an awful experience with this bank. They do not hold themselves accountable or responsible for lying and leading me onwards for this intro offer.
I signed for the U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card which sounded like a good deal. I received my card and started using it as I wanted to accumulate enough points to get the 20,000 point bonus. I was not informed that the point structure changed and my 20,000 points was not worth $200 as advertised on their website. The 20,000 points was only worth $149 as I applied my points towards a statement credit. This is deceptive and not worth keeping this card any longer. My advice is thoroughly read through everything and then read it again.
US Bank recently froze my account for 6 weeks and returned funds from treasury benefit I had earned that were 100% legitimate. I had a large deposit wired to US Bank, transferred funds to other accounts and paid bills. They froze my account for “suspicious activity” and initiated a return of funds to treasury dept. I provided proof of legitimacy and wire which showed their validity at local branch, efraud dept, forgery dept and district managers at US Bank. The director of the federal program from where the funds came called them and verified their legitimacy. They ignored all of this, instead using a faulty fraud detection system that Bank Of America used in 2022 and was fined millions for customer abuse and their error. I had no access to pay bills, review my account or access my rightful funds. US Bank treated me like a criminal when I did ZERO wrong. The only criminal act committed was US Bank seizing my funds. STAY FAR AWAY FROM US BANK.
**** BEWare*** before banking with USBank. I started purchasing crypto and every so often a fraud alert would flag my account and normally would be removed after a verification completing a verification process through the fraud department. Now all of a sudden after 3 trips to the local branch upon showing all requested documentation my account was frozen by the risk department even tho no fraud was detected and now I cant even close my own account until who knows when. This is totally unacceptable and had caused a horrendous inconvenience.
The phone tree is impossible to get a person, it keeps asking the same questions over and over and over! I wanted to throw my phone out the Fing window!!!
UPDATE! Received a telephone call from Heather J. U.S. Bank Social Media Ambassador | Social Media Customer Care today. Although the situation has not been resolved and is pending I want to thank her for her kindness and support in this difficult matter. I greatly appreciate her concern for my wellbeing and life struggles. There are still a few good people in the world thank God. Thank u Heather for being one of them and I hope US Bank cherishes you as well. Beth This is the very worst credit card service on the planet. They came to me and offered me a credit card with a $8000 credit line. I have always paid on time and am in good standings with all my credit vendors. We'll, Just recently I have had a serious medical issue and need surgery and treatment. I have no medical insurance due to hard times and hardship as many of you must know. I still had $4000 on my card and was planning to pay the doctor with that. I also tried to get a medical loan and was searching for one. I then received a letter from US Bank telling me they have reduced my credit limit in half. I now have no money to get the medical treatment I so desperately need. They said the reason is that I had too many hard inquiries on my credit report all due to my trying to get the medical loan. Now I cannot have any treatment and have to cancel my surgery on September 15th the day before my birthday. A great gift indeed. I feel so betrayed. I begged them to increase my limit and they absolutely didn't care about my health and well-being. I closed my account and informed them I will not be paying anything on the card that I owe. I'm done with this dark world. Whatever goes around surely comes around in spades. They will walk in my shoes. Hopefully the universe that I serve everyday will support me somehow someway. Amen
Ive had a US Bank credit card for almost 7 years. Originally I got it to help rebuild my credit. I regularly used it for large purchases and even maxed it out and paid it off twice. 8 months ago they send me an offer for another card with 0% interest for 15 months. So of course I took advantage of the offer, paid off the old card and started using the new one. Last month I get a notice that my my credit score dropped 33 points because US bank lowered my credit limit on the original card to 5% of what it was and now Im using over 50% of my credit limit. They tell me its because I didnt use the first card for last 6 months and cant do anything about it. No warning, no communication or opportunity to use the card again and preserve the credit limit. I guess US Bank expects me to keep using a card that charges interest, after they just sent me a card with zero interest for 15 months. Creating a problem and then penalizing your customers for it is a good way to lose customers. At first I was surprised at the low review scores, but after my experience calling in to speak to their representatives, it makes perfect sense. Almost zero common sense much less any interest in customer retention. I wont be using their cards anymore and wouldnt recommend them to anyone else either.
I am Jeremiah been with US Bank for 10yrs, a Disabled Veteran the U S Bank try to close my checking account, and my credit card account in JAN 25, (that action they reversed it through my appeal to US Bank) but now again they try to close my joint account, and my credit card accounts without any valid reasons, they try to Debank a law abiding Disabled Veteran without any cause, it is now unlawful to Debank law abiding citizen who did not break any laws, but doing legal transactions without breaking any laws it is illegal to Debank customers, on top of this the US Bank did not state to me why they are closing my accounts, who is being loyal customer for 10 years without any issues till now, this is why this bad review for US Bank!
