"I have just finished talking at length to Aneesa at Vanguard about further investments by self-funding. Like a lot of investment houses their Web site is a maze of details and history of performances and both of us, with her clarity, cruised easily around their site on line Fees and risk assessment were highlighted quickly and clearly. I am now going to spend time cruising the web site alone to add more funds because over the last 3 years the existing investments have grown about 58% without the level of fees eating into the gross gain if I had chosen to have the funds managed. Regrettably, I am at a stage where gross managed and fund fees may have to be paid but without Vanguard offering a personal relationship as with any wealth manager I may shortly need to consider leaving Vanguard There is also the Vanguard rule about Ill health. I am told that any partner with Power of Attorney has to actually join Vanguard to access my funds if I reach a stage where I am unable to handle my own affairs. That is an unfortunate rule which is unlike what happens with any Executor who does not need to apply for such membership. If I have got that wrong then happy to be corrected. All in all a very fruitful phone discussion - well done Aneesa."
