"I cannot recommend the Alliant team highly enough, particularly Charles Petruzzi and Amy Holst, who were instrumental in helping us purchase our new home. From our very first conversation through closing and beyond, they provided exceptional service that exceeded all expectations. Charles and Amy offered invaluable insights and advice throughout the entire home-buying process. Their expertise helped us navigate every decision with confidence, and their genuine care for our success was evident at every turn. They were truly there for us every step of the way, making what could have been a stressful experience remarkably smooth. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to our success even after closing. Both Charles and Amy have continued to support us by answering questions and providing guidance as we've settled into our new home. Their willingness to communicate on weekends and during off hours demonstrates a level of dedication that is rare to find. They've made themselves available whenever we've needed them, and that ongoing support has been invaluable. If you're looking for a team that will treat your home purchase as if it were their own and provide support that extends well beyond the closing table, look no further than Charles Petruzzi and Amy Holst at Alliant. They are true professionals who genuinely care about their clients."

"I disputed an $1,808 debit card charge under Regulation E after receiving no goods or services. Alliant's investigation resolved it against me. I then took the merchant to court myself and on July 14, 2026 won a judgment for the full $1,808 plus costs (Monroe County, FL, Case No. 44-2026-SC-000482-A0-01KW) — a judge reached the opposite conclusion Alliant did on the same charge. What concerns me most: the merchant's own chargeback documents listed two different transaction amounts, and a second cardholder charged the identical amount by the same merchant the same night had it reversed by his bank on the same facts. Alliant, reviewing the same evidence, did not. I had to do the bank's job for it in a courtroom to get the right outcome. I've since filed complaints with the CFPB and NCUA regarding the adequacy of their error-resolution process. I'm moving my accounts. If you rely on Alliant to investigate a dispute fairly, know that mine required a court to correct."

"Pros The bank has no fees, which is awesome, especially in today's world. Customer service is available and can be helpful at times. You get paid one day early, not two days early as advertised. They need to correct this. Cons If you have any disputed transactions, you're better off handling them yourself because their disputes department is lackluster. They don't document cases properly, and they aren't very helpful. There are a lot of account restrictions when opening new accounts. Overall If you're looking for a bank account with no fees and easy access, then Alliant is a great option. However, if you need assistance with your account or help resolving disputed transactions, you're largely on your own."
"ALLIANT wasted our time and pulled our credit report, lied to us that the loan was approved, then lied to us about an erroneous title error that we PROVED was wrong, and lied about how we are required to use their title company. DO NOT USE ALLIANT. We attempted to get a HELOAN, which is a loan against a property we own with no mortgage. First thing they do is run our credit, which is fine. We fill out the paperwork, they tell us we are approved! Yay! Weeks pass, we ping them a few tiles, no further information. Then we reach out, they tell us that their title company needs us to get a letter from the mortgage company of the previous owner of our house to prove that the previous owner's mortgage was paid off. I let them know that I have no way to contact a bank about someone else's loan, but I do have the Notarized Reconveyence from the previous owner's bank as proof that the loan was paid. Our title company who handled the purchase of our home was so baffled by Alliant's actions that they offered to do the Title Search portion of our HELOAN with Alliant. Alliant told us that we were only allowed to use their title company which is against the law! As the borrower who will be paying the title fees, it is our right to choose the title company. At that point, over 3 months had passed and Alliant just stopped communicating. Now we are back to square one, with a ding on our credit from Alliant pulling the report."
"I had a great experience closing a jumbo loan with Charles Petruzzi at Alliant Credit Union."

"I've had a lot of ease in use with Alliant Credit Union. I was nervous at first to go to an online credit union, but my family has been with them for 2 years now and it's been easy to use. Customer service has also been really great. Shout out to Terry in the Wire Transfer department for being especially awesome! Honestly, the rates are really good for CDs as well, which is what originally sold us on them. I recommend! Give them a try!"

"Pre-approved and the approved for loan consolidation. Banking here was not and issue until we needed to reach out to customer service. I am extremely disappointed in this entire process. 1. The payoff quote was sent 05/19. Over 2 weeks ago. The process should not have taken this long. 2. Also the information they stated that because it took them over 2 weeks to process the loan the loan price had increased. This was false. The new loan amount did not increase. It decreased. 3. I did not receive any updates on my loan ever until I reached out. I did read that Alliant has terrible customer service but did not experience this for myself until now. I have been banking here for the last few years and am now going to look into banking somewhere else."

"Had a HORRIBLE experience with their customer service department after I went to make a standard purchase and the credit card was declined for potential fraud and they wouldn't clear it until my male chaperone confirmed the charges were legitimate. It's funny, when there's ACTUAL fraud on our card, which has occurred many times btw, they never catch that...."
"Working with Charles on our first mortgage made an intimidating process feel comfortable and easy. Charles was genuine, transparent, informative, and quick to reply. Trusting him took a lot of weight off me. We're very grateful and highly recommend!"
"These people are crooks. I would make extra payments on my loan which I had to call and tell them to apply to principal or they just apply it to future payments. So i started making two payments each month and advising them to apply the second payment to principal. However, the regular payment they kept 100% towards interest and said I was behind on interest payments. I had three different loan officers review my loan history with Alliant and they advised me to file a complaint with NCUA because they stole thousands in unearned interest! These people are the credit union mafia...fitting they are based in Chicago!"
"This place is absolutely horrible and would not recommend them to anyone! Stay far away they are a bunch of liars!!!! Scammers and are extremely RUDE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL! How are you going to charge me for something and I ask you to provide me with an itemized detail of each charge but you refuse to give it to me. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE YOU SCAMMERS!!!!!! Stay FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE"

"I tried to change a monthly payment with Bill Pay. I got an status code 500 error. Customer service said that that status code is erroneous and undefined. Chat said they could not fix the issue. Chat said I had to delete the payee and add the payee back again. When I asked how to find the delete payee and add payee options, the chat Agent stop chatting and did not reply. My chat was closed. The website also says I have too many devices registered. I only have two or three devices. I have to answer security question every time I log into my account."

"FIRST I called Alliant Credit, told them my credit score was 680 + and that was my entire financial situation, confirmed that I had no credit card debt, then had a very disappointing experience with Alliant Credit Union when applying for a HELOC. I filled out a complete application and did not receive any confirmation email or update. After waiting two days, I had to call them myself, but they said my application was denied without notice. This is unacceptable. There was no transparency, communication, or professionalism in the processing of my application. A simple email or phone call would have been the least they could do. Also, the customer service experience was very poor. They do not speak to you politely, and it felt like a complete waste of my time. If you are considering applying for a HELOC here, be aware that there is a lack of communication and clarity in the process. Very disappointing experience.this team is NOT PROFESSIONAL at their job!"
"I didn't ask to be transferred to them, but my HELOC account got transferred to them. They force you to use their account to pay through so I have to transfer money to some account. The auto pay wasn't set up correctly. Actually they're not actually running the HELOC accounts out of their organization but some other organization. They get annoyed with you and you call in and ask about it even though there's nothing anywhere to suggest who you're actually supposed to call. Then they charge you fees to pay over the phone. They also charge you late fees and so it seems like one big scam to pull out $5 here, $10 there and add a lot of inconvenience to your life. Terrible company, could not recommend less."
"STOP BEWARE (DO NOT) Use this Bank for a CD. I have gone through HELL on earth trying to close out MY CD & MY MONEY!!!! So far it is 3 days!!!! I have never had this much trouble with other CD'S. Not worth any interest you might make."

"Charles Petruzzi was an excellent loan officer to me. I highly recommend Charles and alliant credit union. Charles was very thorough, and detail oriented through out the process. He consistenly followed up with me on all the items needed and was very corteous throughout the process."
"They will close your account if 25$ doesn’t get deposited with a bank your currently with that you close, I took my money out of it to put it into this one how lame. I’ll be looking elsewhere for putting my money in without them closing your account."

"Absolutely horrible. Every time we try to login, we have to reset our password. There are way too many security questions. Out of 15 you have to pick six. Every time you login. If you don't remember even one, you are locked out. We have been on auto pay since the beginning of our loan and all of a sudden it was off. When we did not see the payment come through I called and they said there was no auto pay scheduled. It's a good thing I called. Would not recommend to anyone."
"I submitted an application for a High Yield Savings Account (HYSA), but there was a typo in my birthdate. I called the bank to inquire about the status, as I had not received any communication regarding approval or disapproval. After making a second call, the operator indicated that a manual review was necessary. By the 18th day, I still had not received a response. When I called again, I was informed that the account had been disapproved. However, they did not follow up with an email or a call to communicate the final decision."

"UPDATE: My funds were released and my home is safe. I appreciate it being taken care of timely, but the anxiety of it all was absolutely unnecessary. ***** I’ve been with Alliant CU for several years and have deposited thousands of dollars there. Never have I ever done a mobile deposit. The process is a nightmare for 3rd party checks but my USAA account has never had this issue and never was I told by Alliant that 3rd party checks aren’t accepted. So they shutdown my account and no one called or emailed me. So I called and thought everything was sorted just to find they added time to my funds to be released. A total of 9 days for a process that per the company should take 3-7. Well now my mortgage will be late and I’ll be at risk of losing my home. They told me the funds would be available next day and now all of a sudden no one can help me. Scammers and liars for sure. Preying on disabled vets should be a crime!"
