So...went on their website because their provocative internet ads seemed promising. Looked - wasn't impressed - went about my rat-killing. A few days later an enormous box arrived with a $53 price tag. Notified MM, requested refund, received it promptly. BTW, they mention "$25 to $45 cost per order. Week #2 and #3 were identical. I ordered nothing, they shipped outrageously priced produce, and debited my account. My email pleas were " answered" by AI. Finally, a human responded with MM's Official Position. Their policy is to limit refunds - a policy that they themselves instituted - to just ONE per customer regardless of circumstances. If I were to create an internet company, I'd do as MM does. And while I'm at it, develop "policies" most beneficial to me. This is less an "organic produce" company and more of a "revenue enhancement" scheme. BEWARE...!
Having serious concerns and issues, management has not yet contacted me in over a week. I was subscribed to a privacy text and never received a response. I have pictures of all my concerns for the last year and contacted customer service each time. Their customer service representative was very helpful but management no response. I only received a text back that said I was subscribed to the privacy text. I will wait to see if they respond before I share my complete review.
I.ve had no problem with the food. The issue I'm having is with their delivery drivers. There is a selection that you can make called "Additional Delivery Instructions". I added "Ring the doorbell". That's it, just ring the doorbell. Nine of the eleven deliveries so far they haven't. I have brought this issue to the attention of their "Customer Care" department. They always respond with how sorry they were, blah, blah, but nothing has been done to resolve the issue. This last time they sent me an email on how I could contact the driver directly and hopefully resolve the issue myself!
I used to love Misfits Market. I'm all for saving money and reducing food waste. However, when it comes to watching my family's budget, I have to do what is necessary to survive. I'm sorry, but spending over $100 on a handful of fruits and vegetables does not justify the price. I cancelled my plan and don't expect to return to it.
Terrible user interface, I had no idea I had signed up for an order, I thought I was just shopping. Didn't realize it was an auto-shipment of stuff they'd already added to my cart until the box showed up at my house and I was billed. I feel scammed. The items were ok, but the packaging was a mess. I would NOT recommend.
After seeing advertisements for misfits market, I signed up, hoping to be able to purchase a vension roast at some point. You have to put your credit card info in just to see what they offer. I didn't realize that they signed me up for automatic delivery. When I received a box that I did not order I complained. I had received vegan olive oil cheese, cat treats and some produce. The only thing I could use were the lemons. I have a garden, don't have a cat, and am not vegan. They refunded the$53.00 I was charged but did not correct the auto delivery, nor did they advise me that I needed to change it or how to do so. I believed they had changed my account so I would not receive food I did not order. I received another order, but before I could file a complaint, I was charged for a third. The third time, they advised me that they would change my account so as not to make automatic orders. My money was not refunded. I cancelled but I believe this was a scam as I have paid $109 and the only item I used were 4 lemons. They need to be up front about how to make a choice on one's account. It seems that many people have this same issue, therefore it is reasonable to believe that they do not communicate well. If all of these people get deliveries they haven't ordered before canceling, think of how much money Misfits Market makes! Them being sorry doesn't change that. I hate dishonesty.
Originally signed up for imperfect foods and I loved it I cannot stand misfits market and I'm sad they bought out imperfect foods and ruined it Ever since the buy out: My produce is rotten, smashed, or goes bad within 4 days Half the time they don't put meat in the refrigeration bag The meat is usually thawed and popped contaminating the whole box with raw meat juices I'm missing items On top of that they want tips for delivery drivers. My food arrives smashed every time and they automate the tips When I signed up for imperfect foods I set a spending limit and selected what type of items I wanted for pre filled boxes. It was $35 so if I forgot to update it, it wasn't a ton of money out the window When it became misfit market they consistently prefilled my order with over $150 of food that wasn't even in the categories I selected. I had to throw a fit for them to stop adding insane amounts of food to my cart. The prices are so insane. The idea is that they send "rescued" items. Which is great in theory. However I recently started comparing to Kroger prices and for produce half the size I'm paying double for the "rescued food" that ends up in the compost half the time when it arrives spoiled. Their marketing is all a lie at this point. Nothing is "rescued" and half the items now are household products, pet treats, and wine. And by the way if you ever order alcohol they ship it via FedEx and won't schedule delivery with you. I had to chase down a box of wine for a week and finally pick it up at a physical location across the city. When I complained misfit market said they have no control over delivery. Well when they ship it they DO have the option to pick a delivery window, they just don't. Save your time and money and buy directly from the businesses or local farmers if you want to support everything misfit market claims to be because they are just a scam at this point
WENT AS FAR AS GIVING THEM MY CREDIT CARD BUT DID NOT AUTHORIZE PURCHASE. SENT BOX ANYWAY. DID NOT AUTHORIZE BECAUSE I FELT VALUE WAS NOT THERE.
This company was advertised as having imperfect fruits, vegetables, and imperfect food items. They described these items as helping the farmers with the produce that they were not able to sell, but did not want to be wasted. When I got my order, all the fruit and vegetables were perfect. This is not usually a bad thing, however, I was paying prime organic prices that were almost double what I could get at my local Kroger. Even the imperfect was more money than the perfect at my local grocery store. The fact that I had to put in all my credit card information upfront, should have been a red flag. So, while this company does have high-quality items, they are not the prices that I wanted to pay, nor are they the products that can’t be sold to grocery stores. I paid $79 for groceries that would have been $50 at my local Kroger.
Who wants your credit card up front? WTF...And now I can't remove my information from sign up...Must be a Scam to get your Information.
I've just started buying from Misfit Market and have only good things to say. The produce is so much fresher than I purchase at any of my local grocery stores. No, its not the cheapest, but most of the produce is organic and definitely superior to the big chain groceries. I'm a bit disabled these days and love the delivery. I haven't tried the meat or seafood yet, but plan on doing so. The house brand "Odds & Ends" seems to be very good. I've read the negative reviews and most complaints seem to be due to a misunderstanding of the business and or the website. So far, I'm very happy with the service.
I have had a good experience with Misfits Market, but with a caveat. I ordered Misfits Market as part of a rewards program that paid me gift cards as part of my purchase. Once I was in, I was able to "shop" for the food I wanted, so long as I hit $45 minimum. When I did, the food arrived the day after my order window closed. All the food was clearly still fresh and in good shape. My one minor quibble is that some of the vacuum packed items don't hold a good seal, so the vacuum pack ain't vacuum packed. The seal was bad for one item and I decided to eat it immediately rather than wait and watch it go bad quickly. Would definitely give another try again sometime, but not at the current prices. Hope this place succeeds, though, because they take "misfit" foods and use them rather than waste them.
Went to “look around” but you can’t see any product without registering. Once registered I was unimpressed with prices. Immediately cancelled as They offered nothing of interest that was saving money. Next I get a charge for $41! I visit website (no phone number) and cancelled again. Then I get a notice they are sending another box! Cancelled again and called my bank. Yes I sent a note to ‘customer care’. But they don’t care rather they try to get more money. 3 days later product arrives. Called courier to come get it they said ok but never did. Sheisty as heck.
Produce was perfect and fresh. I received 15 of 18 items ordered. I request a refund for missing items, which I promptly received. A loaf of bread was under 16 cans of sparkling water and there was no compensation offered for that. The top of the box wasn't taped well and it let the cool temp out.
This is a rip off! i didn't put any cc info but filled in what I liked thinking on order day I would go back and finish filling in. Then I read the reviews and decided, no way! To my surprise an order was delivered to my apartment and when it was opened I was appalled! The total on the order was $53! For six items that I did not care for. I will NOT pay for this. Beware the deceptive tactics of this company. Don't even fill in your "likes". They send you things and then expect you to pay.
I had food in the cart; I did not hit purchase they decided to order the food without my permission and give a 14 dollars tip. No direct way to contact anybody just from the page and no email sent to you about they will reply.
They claim to save food waste and also save you money. Nearly every item was more expensive than what I see in my local Aldi. Even bacon scraps were more expensive than normal bacon. Maybe it’s a discount for some markets, but it’s not even close to a discount in the Kansas City area.
Look, we all hustle to make money and use various sales techniques, I get it. But charging people and hoping they just won’t notice? That's scamming. I’m 100% sure nobody at this company even cares about negative reviews clearly the countless other bad reviews didn’t inspire you to change this deceptive tactic. I usually never write negative reviews, but honestly, this company’s practices are so terrible, they deserve this one. I’ll keep this review up until you stop this borderline-scamming approach.
I have been with this company for many years when it was Imperfect Produce. Imperfect was perfect then. I moved and found Misfits, sister company to Imperfect so I was very excited and happy I could have the same services. Oh guess what? At the very beginning, I think 2021, they were excellent. If you have a problem, you could call them, chat them or email them and they would get it immediately resolved. Now, you cannot get anyone to respond to you for days. Their delivery would be late. The produces would be damaged. The final straw came this last Wednesday. No show and no answer. This is the third times they could not show up and deliver on time. I understand about storms or holidays, but this isn't it. I closed my account now. I still have one under someone else's name. Let's see how long that one can remain open without trouble. Stay away from them.
Imagine you walk into a grocery store and they ask you for your credit card upfront. Then, they fill your cart with random stuff, and when you leave it in the store because you don’t want any of it, they still charge you for it and deliver it to you a week later. This is the experience of using Misfits Market.
