"Was asked to complete a verification of income thru Nova Credit for my apartment application. Submitted a paystub, seemed easy enough. Except the agent told me there was an error with the service and to try connecting my bank account. I do, but Nova kept sending email reminders to complete it every two hours, and I resubmitted my info the first couple times, but when I followed up again they said they still couldn't access it. I submitted a help ticket to Nova, and let them know the error code, but no one from Nova ever responded to me. I sent my paystubs and bank statements to the property management company, and they ask to try Nova one more time to no avail. They have to override the approval process. Apparently Nova's system struggles with state paystubs, and certain banks? Our lease start date was delayed by 7 days because of this. I will most likely also be writing letters to city council to get them to ban services like this, because i am also unable to pay my rent online through the same portal. The management company has been around for quite a while, but this seems like a new system for them."
"I had to use Nova Credit to apply for an apartment. While I'm not concerned about the security of Nova, their verification of my income was completely wrong and counted me as only having been paid for the past two months at a significantly lower income than I was making. Thankfully the complex was very willing to work with me and accepted my paystubs and screenshots from my banking app of my deposits since January, but the whole thing was frustrating and stressful. I would encourage complexes to not use Nova as part of their screening process."

Further, I showed Nova Credit near perfect credit and a bank account with enough liquid USD to cover my rent until I’m dead from old age and they still require a co-signer. What an absolute joke of financial services company."

"Nova Credit asked my son for my bank login information. My son is a doctor. Clearly, they are phishers. If you provided them with your bank login information, change your password, then close your bank account. When banks start losing enough customers, these scammers will get shut down."

"Nova has a grade of F on BBB. So I am suppose to trust a company with an F rating on BBB, a 2.1 on this site, and just hand over my sign-in information from my bank, which the bank, BTW, told me to NEVER DO! The link takes you to a website that states that they SAVE your information. Why are you saving people's bank sign-in information? Also, they don't tell you, but there is supposedly a way to UPLOAD your paystub into the site, but they don't offer that upfront."

"The fact that Nova Credit requires a person to login to bank accounts on their website for income verification is ridiculous, especially when other "secure" sites such as Equifax, have been hacked in the past. Nova Credit wants consumers to "trust" in their system but the risk is not worth the benefit. Recently, I refused to use Nova Credit for income verification so just took my business somewhere else. So glad I did!"
