When I went to transfer the money I found that I could send funds TO Qtrade but not withdraw FROM qtrade. I messaged Qtrade and was messaged back the next day sayng that my bank would appear in the correct drop down menu in 1 or 2 business days. Unacceptable!"

Months later I get an email asking for my SIN # birthdate etc to transfer out funds. Terrible execution speed on trades - I've had to wait for as long as 3 minutes for my trades to be "reviewed" before they open in the market. Missed many entries. Lately, they've instituted a "security feature" where you are automatically logged out if inactive for 15 minutes. Hitting a refresh button does not count as "activity"; you have to actually navigate through the website in some way. And today, the only option that's been available on the Equity Order Entry page is "Sell"!! This is amateur hour!! Looking for an alternative..."

"Finally got my account transferred out, Qtrade slow walks them once the find out a transfer has been initiated. They also lock down your accounts so that any cash sitting in it cannot be invested. The only thing they are quick at doing is passing the buck when they screw up and charging fees."

CNQ has none. The Interactive section is useable for one stock at a time beyond the current day option. The message "Logarythmic scales can't be used with benchmarks" OK...that's a few weeks ago and what the *** does it mean. Simply buying a stock has become an extented effort at guessing to get the job done. No longer able to transfer US$ to the account from Vancity and no advice on how to do it. I've alerted them of my concerns and no response other than thanks for my concerns and we'll pass them on. I'm checking out Questrade and if I get comfortable with a new system it will be goodbye."

"Platform is fairly robust, especially when compared with others that gamify their dashboard. My review would have been 1-star otherwise. I've been with the platform for about 6 years now. Their customer service ranges from barely adequate to unresponsive. The platform does not allow certain trades, requiring a $250 fee and a phone call. In 2026. Emails go without response for weeks at a time. Calls are regularly on hold for 45+ minutes. When they do respond, it's short, terse and without any semblance of consistency - i.e. reps do not check your account notes. All around bad. If I could transfer my entire portfolio without incurring capital gains, I'd be long gone."

I didn’t do anything wrong, they’ve just become a huge letdown and I’ve become distrustful from this repeated unresponsiveness - if they can’t handle the phone, they probably shouldn’t handle my money. I’ve got things to do, and Qtrade is literally in my way. I have financial instructions that they ignore. I’m looking to move my whole portfolio. I don’t trust this company anymore."
