"I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at TJ Maxx yesterday was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. I attempted to return several items that still had their tags attached. Unfortunately, I no longer had the receipt, which I understand can complicate the return process. I completely accept responsibility for waiting too long and understand that there may be limitations on what can be returned. The issue was not that my return was denied—it was how I was treated throughout the interaction. From the moment I approached the register, the manager assisting me was dismissive, rude, and made me feel as though I was doing something wrong simply by asking about a return. She repeatedly stated that she could not find the items in the system and ultimately told me, “Next time hold onto your receipt.” The comment itself may seem minor, but combined with her tone and demeanor, it came across as condescending and unnecessary. As someone who worked in customer service for years, I know that difficult conversations happen every day. If she had simply explained the situation politely and professionally from the start, I would have completely understood. Instead, I was treated as though I was trying to scam the store or break a rule, when I was simply asking about a return under the store’s established policy. I understand that employees deal with frustrating situations, but customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. The outcome of the transaction wasn’t what upset me—it was the way I was made to feel during the interaction. For a manager, the level of customer service I experienced was extremely disappointing. This experience took place in Philadelphia PA south Christopher Columbus blvd location"

"TJ Maxx gets a bad rap I think. Happy with the stuff I got over the weekend."

"I used my new account only once. It was paid 2 weeks late, (neighbor had our mail) over the phone. There was a service charge and a late fee. We asked to pay it off in full, was this bill accurate? Wrote down the name of the cust. serv. person, date and the full charge. One month later, after never using this acct. again, we get a bill for a $2.00 late fee. On what? We never used this card again. I’m told it’s a hidden fee that the cust.serv. person would not have seen when we asked if this bill was the complete and total amount due. Plus, they start charging their interest fee the moment you use your card to purchase something! Not if you are late paying…the moment you make a purchase! Keep in mind folks, you are being charged extra on day one BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR. And when they send you your monthly bill they are holding back an extra fee that they will continue to add to your bill each month. Ask to pay your bill in full and realize the person on the phone doesn’t see the extra fee that’s coming next month. This is fraudulent. I paid in full, fees and all, never used the card again and I still got a bill for more fees a month later. No one should get or use a TJ Max card after understanding this. Underhanded. When they talk you into signing up for their credit card do they let you know they are charging you interest already, BEFORE YOU WALK OUT OF THE STORE? Not me. I would not have opted into getting this card if they said that."

"They steal money. They take it from the card and don't ship the order. They say we canceled the order and didn't take the money"

"TJX Store can not look up your points/rewards available at register...and have to ask ME if I have any. Since credit card is not connected to TJX, will cancel. No point in maintaining yet another separate credit card."
"I love the Manitowoc employees at TJ Maxx. They kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you."

"Upon learning that one of the managers at this location is an alleged child predator, I refuse to shop there at all. It has been reported by multiple employees that in 2025 he sexually harassed several high school girls who currently work with him. The girls reported that his predatory behavior made them feel threatened and very uncomfortable. A couple of the girls were reported as being minors or not far removed from being minors. The initial young lady who reported him allegedly had her claims dismissed by the District Manager, Kristi Hill, who protected the predatory manager in solidarity. The incident was reported to HR, but nothing significant happened to deter his predatory behavior, as the report was allegedly downplayed by the District Manager. That left the young high school girl to suffer trauma, as she still had to endure working around him. After the initial report, although terrified for their safety, other high school girls found the courage to come forward with their own reports of inappropriate behavior by the predatory manager, which resulted in multiple additional claims against him. Due to the alleged intentional mishandling of evidence by District Manager Kristi Hill, no further action was taken. The girls were fearful during that time, and many still are today. One of the girls was confided in by the predatory manager, who shared confidential information with her from an active HR case against him, which is a clear violation of company policy. Imagine an adult male over three times the age of each young girl using his position of authority to pressure them in a sexual manner. This alleged predator is still employed because the company clearly values having a fourth member of management over the safety of high school employees. The store manager thinks the predatory manager is lower than scum on the bottom of her shoe, but she can't do anything due to company policies and procedures protecting his behavior and employment. The above information is allegedly factual. If you feel compelled, call the location at (810) 714-9310 and ask questions. If they protect him under orders from the company, confidentiality, or claim it didn't happen, do not accept their forced cover-up. Contact the corporate office, HR, and demand answers respectfully. This situation needs more attention because reporting his predatory behavior as an employee has been ineffective. Something needs to be done!"
"I am reviewing the tjmaxx in Pittsfield Massachusetts. I had made an online purchase of 41 items . Could not cancel the order . They shipped to me. Then I was told to return the items in store. I attempted to do this. The female manager started throwing all the items I brought in to the big box. I had purchased 399.00 worth of merchandise. Then she handed me a receipt for 148.00 My husband notice the amount and I questioned the manager she stated well you watched me do the return. I told her there is only 14 items on this recipe what about all the other ones hat you have thrown in the box. I then told her to give me all the merchandise back. I had to re buy the 14 returns back and proceeded to rake all 41 items back home. Rather than to have them stolen from me in store. Then I shipped and he entire order with packing slips of all items enclosed. They only processed a part of the items and still owe me 190.00. I have disputed this synchrony bank. I closed my account because that is twice in a row there was an attemptingto steal from me. I am now commencing forward with a claim suit for the 190.00. I have save all documents especially that original receipt from the manager who initially did a return on register 6 in the Pittsfield Massachusetts store. Beware. Check your receipt when handed back to as we did. I find a huge risk with this company. I will abs never shop them again"

"TJ MAXX IS CHEAP! I have never seen such a disorganized store before. And their quality is such a disgrace. The clothing there is basically falling apart. And their decor while pleasant to the eye, is expensive and trashy. Never shop there."
"I placed my order on the 3-11-25 it's no 4-12-25 and still no sign of my parcel the tracking information they gave me shows it's still in China and TJX do not respond to any emails I have written, do yourself a favour and never order through a TJX company."

"This job is great if you want to be overworked, underpaid, and talked down constantly."
"I was in North Carolina in October of 2025, with my daughter who is very ill and declining. She liked the pants I had on and wondered if her dad would go to the Spanish Fork, Utah store and get her a pair. I know he would never find them so I called the Spanish Fork store and asked if they could find them. I told them the brand and they went hunting for me. They came back to the phone three times trying to find them. They searched on the computer and found them. They held them so my husband could come and get them. There were two pair. The two girls both told their names and I can't remember them. They went above and beyond serving me. I will always remember them and use them as stellar examples of service. I love Tj Maxx in Spanish Fork, Utah. Thank You again. It means the world to my daughter, and to me as well."

"* I highly recommend this business. Their customer service is second to none. The product quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations everytime"

"My account was closed by Gracy a Supervisor at their Head office without my permission, when I called to find out why I was then again told that it was by accident and that they could not reopen it. The Supervisor by the name Jenean was arrogant and kept on overtalking to me. I have always paid my account in full each and every Month. I will never be Shopping there again. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!"
"It happened again—but this time, I caught it early. I went shopping at TJ Maxx today, and as I was checking out, I was surprised at how high my total was. I paid as the clerk requested, but before leaving, I decided to review my receipt. And guess what? I had been charged twice for the same item—and of course, it was the most expensive one on my bill. Come on, TJ Maxx! This is the second time this has happened at this store, and it’s very disappointing."
"Good inventory at Tyson’s store m. Time well spent"

"Well I went this week. Twice Huge clearance. Brands I love that are less than on auction sites, without shipping, and the best prices available. Trusted brands. After spending thousands on the same products on line, I’ve finally switched completely to TJMAXX. I get my skincare, hair , body, products shoes and clothes there exclusively now. And the beauty department associate is also a dermatologist and had real advice. That was cool. -at the Jupiter store on Indiantown. The manager was walking around screamingf on her headset that they’re “not a f_ _ ___g charity” and I think my checkout lady was high, but whatever. ‘"
"These few dollars of discount they give you when you apply for the card are not worth it. This company does not stand by their customers. I purchased a course on Instagram and returned it before I got to use it. Instagram company turn out to be a fraud. They forged my signature claiming that I used their course. This course is around $800-(a small vacation we are all waiting for). TJMaxx is not only being unhelpful in uncovering this fraud, but it is also ruining my credit as well as adding all kinds of charges as if I’ve done something wrong. This whole situation is extremely upsetting and I hope others will learn from it. Use Chase credit card, they stand by their customers."
"I used to really enjoy shopping at TJMaxx, but lately it has been rather disappointing -- whether that has to do with poor selection on some categories of merchandise, occasionally rude staff or stupid TJMaxx policies, such as refusing to sell last season's merchandise that has lost its tag and where there might still be a SKU in its electronic system for it. How much sense does it make to refuse to sell one last piece of last season's merch -- at full current TJM price!-- to an eager customer, when the policy is to "return it" to wherever it is supposed to go so that it gets sold to a third party for only pennies on the dollar! Talk about STUPID! Add to that annoyance the current policy to restrict rewards accrual to TJM credit card holders only! Some of us have had TJM rewards accounts --not linked to credit -- established YEARS ago! It used to be simple to just give the cashier a phone number and the sale would be posted to the rewards account. If you view the TJX website, it yet says that "TJX Rewards Access" is still in operation "at participating locations." What the site doesn't tell you is that it doesn't look like their system has any remaining "participating locations" at all! I say that because TJM is a place I'd typically like to shop when traveling across the U.S. (I even visted a TK Maxx while overseas!) It has been MONTHS since any cashier has asked for a phone number for the rewards account. So, lately I have been asking the cashiers up front at what point in the transaction does the phone number need to be entered-- before or after the sale is rung up. The cashiers behaved like they didn't have any idea what was being talked about! One cashier admitted that there didn't seem to be any way to do that now and that rewards are now only for their credit card customers. Hmmpf! So, I tried to call the toll-free phone number for the TJX Rewards Access program and the number doesn't appear to be working! If the program has been discontinued, shouldn't they tell their customers the TRUTH??? Not everyone wants to have 'just another credit card!' Some of us are uncomfortable putting in a social security number at the register to apply for the card! I'd dare say that some of us are a bit too smart to continue shopping at TJMaxx."
